Blitz Basic 2.1 screenmode in AmiKit
Hi!
BB uses a wierd screenmode when starting it in AmiKit 8.1. When I start typing the characters are tiny and unreadable. See top left in the attached screenshot. Does BB automatically use/copy the workbench/DOpus screenmode? Can I get BB to open up a normal PAL screenmode? Thanks |

Never used Amikit myself. What I think: blitz attempts to scale to the same resolution as your WB, but found that it works best at Hi Res at least. I personally use Hi Res Interlaced and it works fine. Your WB screenmode may be set to way higher than that looking at your screenshot which could be the reason for the problem.
You could also try changing the environment options in the blitz menu. Hope you get it sorted! |

You should NEVER use BB above 1024 pixels wide. It just doesn't work properly. Also, BB does not like fonts <> 8pixl (fixed width) and GUI enhancements. They might work - but you should go plain OS3.9. That is fine in most cases.
Maybe you have run BB before or there is a 'ted.prefs' file in ENVARC: - Delete it. Set Workbench to something smaller, like 800x600. If BB starts fine, go to Prefs and set your own Screenmode. Last edited by Cylon; 11 January 2015 at 21:07. Reason: additions |

I have the Ultimate CD version. It just looks strange because of the resolution and the top bar from AmiKit.
Of course it works just fine on the A1200 and in a regular ClassicWB setup using WinUAE and FS-UAE (os x) so I will just use them. |

Yes, the very old editor you have is not too happy on large screens. There is a better editor to be found though, maybe the Blitz support Suite, that I had no problems using on larger screenmodes, but it's not installed by default.
You could also use AmiBlitz 3 which has a new editor that works great on pretty much any screen size. |
