I'm sorry, I was wrong! I compiled ROM image with beta5 but loaded different one!
On my machine, beta5 still does not mount some partitions! Only three are mounted, DH0, MAC and DH1 (three first ones). They fit 4GB border, all other partitions beyond the 4GB border are not seen! There's still something to fix althrough there's some advance in that Workbench no longer shows other partitions as uninitialized. They are invisible at all! HDToolBox shows all partitions correctly. Performance is 2.7MB/s compared to 2.4MB/s with beta1. |

No, all partitions beyond 4 Gb are uninitialized (with Pfs3ds_000 18.4 and beta1 & 5)

They are not mounted at all for me. Anyway, the same result - no access to them...

Works fine for me (< 4 GiB CF, PFS)!
Speed Results (with exec 45.20): fdh0 = 2259 KiB/s, fdh1 = 3276 KiB/s |

Keep at it. You'll get it working with enough feedback.

I tested this once again, still getting the same results. What is more, partitions are now shown uninitialized (they were completely not mounted with beta5) like with beta4. When trying to access Speed Test from SysInfo, i get "line-a emulator error". Still to do is to try with another FileSystem than SFS, altrough I'm sure this is a bug in scsi.device, which does not occur with beta1.
Maybe MCP's GuruInfo file will help somehow? |

beta7 also tested with PFS partition over 4G. Cannot format a volume (just like other SFS partitions) - the machine hangs immediately after PFS3 "welcome" dialog. I think that the problem solved in beta6 was one thing, another still being a bug in Doobrey's code.
Cosmos, try to remove Doobrey's code and compile, let's see what happens! I'm sure it's a bug in Doobrey's code, because his scsi.device (44.20 AFAIR) behaves EXACTLY the same! |

Wasn't Doobrey's code already removed in beta5?

@altcomputing
Pfs3ds_000 v18.4 (and v18.5 on Aminet) give uninitialised partitions beyond 4 Gb using the scsi v43.45 (BB2) and the v43.46b1 That's why I added Doobrey's code in the beta 2 : to get Pfs3 working ! Sadly, these addon get SFS not working... Since I don't code in C/C++, to get SFS working, you must ask Piru for fixing something into Pfs3. Pfs3 is not working correctly using the v43.45 with partitions beyond 4 Gb (Write Error -3 on block 0)... When fixed, I'll remove Doobrey's code, and SFS will works again ! @pintcat Doobrey's code was partialy removed in the b5, not completly... EDIT : v18.3 on Aminet => All partitions working fine v18.4 => All partitions beyond the 4 Gb border are uninitialised v18.5 => All partitions beyond the 4 Gb border are uninitialised Last edited by Cosmos; 16 July 2011 at 18:12. |
