Thumbs up Quake III ported to Os4

This is a quick and dirty port of Quake 3 for OS4. To play, you need the latest version of the Quake 3 data files (retial version plus all patches). You also need the latest MiniGL.library (included in this archive, copy to libs:

The port uses the QVM jit, so it can also run all the mods (tested with Urban Terror). Source code is available on OS4depot.net too. The port is unpotimized, so don't expect it to be blazing fast. If you want to contact me, write a mail to thomasf()hyperion-entertainment.biz

DISCLAIMER: This software is provided as-is, with no guarantee for usability.

Also note: This port has NOTHING to do with Hyperion Entertainment, it's a spare time project of me. DO NOT write to Hyperion Entertainment regarding support.

Get it from OS4 Depot

Great work!

Just goes to show AOS 4 could still be a worthwhile platform - if there was anything for the vast majority of us to run it on...

I wonder when an AROS port will be done?

Send a message via ICQ to Unknown_K
Quake 3 source code was released to hobbyists last year was it not? It has (or will) be ported to anything powerfull enough to run it by hobbyists.

I just tested this port and it´s totally great

SP only runs at 25FPS on 1024x768 but MP over Internet is MUCH faster ... not tested the FPS there ....

Great work

Same here. This port works quite well but the frame rate should be better in future versions.
