@sjakie43: Could you please post a text list instead of screenshots? Just go to View -> Export to text file (Ctrl+F6) with "not working" view selected and GameBase should spit out a list.

Thanks that's great.

Demo: Authentik
Emu: WinUAE 1.4.3 beta 11
Config: Built-in A1200 4MB Fast RAM expanded configuration + JIT disabled
Notes: Copper distortion routine runs too fast with JIT enabled, graphics fail after dancing vector man, music continues to play

It's dumping you to the initial shell because when you attach an archive to WinUAE as a hard drive no startup-sequence is auto-created (run Authentik manually and it will work). If you attach the Authentik executable itself as a hard drive then DH0:S/startup-sequence will be automatically created with "Authentik" as the contents thereby causing the demo to start (incorrectly I'm afraid). Unfortunately this highlights another problem, Authentik appears to only run correctly after kickstart has opened the initial shell, I avoided this by repacking to a zip that includes an alternate startup-sequence (uploaded a copy to The Zone).

Thanx OddbOd!

Works perfect, the only thing is that i do not
have an option in gamebase to "add archive"......
So i need an option in gemus script::
Something like "if not(disk)then else.....(add archive).
Is there an expert in the neighberhood?
So i hope that is possible sometime, would be great!

The configuration parameter that you need to enable JIT is cachesize if it is set to 0 then JIT is disabled any other value is the JIT cache size specified in bytes, I suggest you deault it to 0 and only use values available from WinUAE's GUI (1024,2048,3072,4096,5120,6144,7168 and 8192).

Regarding archive attachment I personally don't think it is a good solution for DemoBase because it only works with one-file demos that have no prior dependencies (i.e. assigns, libraries, specific directory structure, etc.) and is not compatible with any previous versions of WinUAE. A technique similar to WHDRun where the environment is generated from a template would be more flexible while still being backwards compatible.

This is just food for thought and comments from andreas, Belgarath and eLowar would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case you can't get Closer to run make sure you did 'assign CNCD: "your closer directory"', the demo won't work without that. f.e. if you have installed the demo in "dh1:demos/closer" then you need to do "assign cncd: dh1:demos/closer" before starting the demo. Alternatively you could cd to dh1:demos/closer and just type 'assign cncd: "" ' then.

Alrightee sjakie,

I'm back on track! (after being extremely busy the last weeks, so I'm sorry I hadn't replied to your PM)

If you have a new non-working list, just post it! Keen on fiddling with some new problematic demos!

Hi Andreas!

Nice you'r back in town heheh

I have not checked any demos lately,so the not working list
is still the same.

What i have been doin is added more titles from the
greatest archive i can find on the net,,,Exotica!

So this is teh score....\

I have been adding titles only plus i filled in the cracking group.

The total count of demos that work is about 1600.
The total amount of NOT working demos is 106.
And i have a small 1000 demos i have put in and that need to
be tested YET.

So let me know what is up with the NOT working demos PLZ

Hmm let you know what exactly?
Moreover, what is this file you attached? That does not look like the non-working list ... this 106 demo list would be interesting already.

Just seen this thread what a great idea, i have been slowly collecting demos for quite awhile now so a demobase sounds great to put these maserpieces all in one place a launch them from a front-end.
just when will it ready mate.
