I registered 2 years ago (meaning I sent money to the author via his website) but never got a reply.
Thankfully one friend of mine who has it registered sent me his key (which by the fact) isn't made for his Name but a general one. AFAIK the keys that if you manage to get from the author will be the same as the key I also have. As for benefits, I dunno if they exist. I only registered to support the guy that made such a required software. |

The benefits of having a registered installation of MUI are you can completely customise the GUI for every program that uses it, down to the pixel level in some cases. Frames, backgrounds, buttons, scrollbars, and all the other GUI elements can be changed to satisfy your tastes. You can apply the new look globally, as well as customise each application individually.
Apparently MUI can still be registered through the website via PayPal, but what mfilos said about not receiving the key, and even if it is sent it's no-longer a personal key doesn't fill me with hope. If he's offering a generic key, it would be more sensible to offer it as an instant automated download as soon as payment goes through, rather than relying on the author to check his PayPal account and send the files through email within a few days (or never). |

I go several times to the MUI website, But I read in other forums about registration and many have the same problem, send the money and the key... "fly in the sky".......
So, you pay money to support the project and don´t receive the key? And finally... No way to became a "registered user"?, This is crazy....... |

If you don't have a key... and google is not your friend...
you can simply copy your MUI settings from ENV: to ENVARC: whenever you've changed them. That's really all you need to do to enjoy MUI. |
