Amiga games that barely looked better than the c64 version...

Saw a youtube video of Platoon on Amiga and thought it looked a LOT like the C64 version (which was the one I played at the time). There are differences obviously, but not by much..
Other unimpressive Amiga versions (or maybe its because C64 versions were impressive..) Giana Sisters...

I'm sure there's a whole bunch of them. Whats your "is that really an Amiga screenshot" -moment?

Bubble Bobble is quite similar on both platforms.

The game is indeed the best 8 bits version. The colors are the ones i would see on an amiga version.

I have the C64 version, and it's atrocious to play and look at.

I'd prefer to go to work than imposing me to play the whole game on C64.

Hideous at best, pure chore !

Bone Cruncher.
Still great brain teasing fun when you figure out how to play and get the hang of it.

I once tried to do an amiga Version with gfx from amstrad Version but real life and bad coding skills stopped me

This is what Super C home version should be. Amiga could do this? Could do even better than this....

R-TYPE springs to mind. Seems only marginally better on Amiga.

@lordofchaos
I expected an R-type port at the same level of PC-Engine, so a bit a disappointment but was not too bad...

@saimon69 Yeah, the playability is still there I imagine the developers didn't have much time to port it either.

And as the uploader suggests.. the C64 had the cool music, so overall experience was actually better on the c64 ;-)

Best 8bit Version is Contra for the NES. Even the MSX-2 Contra is better than the typically overrated CPC game with the brick pixels.

On topic: The typcial suspects, Hawkeye, Wizball etc.

I assume this is a joke since the NES version is actually better than the lame Arcade game. The typical suspects? More: Last Ninja 2, Armalyte (a completely different shit game), Bionic Commando, Flimbo's Quest, Microprose Soccer, Thunder Cats. Some of them were C64 to ST to Amiga, even more shit.

Last Ninja 2 is just garbage on CPC, they should made it in mode 0, and even in this respect, we got mode 0 16 colors crap screens straight from the C64 on LNRx.....
Flimbo's quest would be great if it was converted from the ST or the Amiga to CPC, and not from C64......

Barbarian from Palace, great graphics, unfortunately slowed down due to direct conversion from the C64 real time on CPC ! This means that redone, this game could be fast (at last), instead of this slow pace engine ported directly from the C64
