Just got my hands on a GBA!!
I'd just like to add that Ive just acquired a GBA!!
It was after hearing about the GBA on here that I decided that I'd have to get hold of one at all costs! At first I was a bit sceptical, I was honestly expecting it to be poo! but to my suprise its very good, the graphics are quite good & I think the sound is spot on too. The game I had with it was ISS, god a completely different game compared to the PS2 version, I think its much harder on first impressions!! I actually think the commentating is better too! Are there any ports of amiga games out yet? Also I'd like to know if the game Golden Sun on the GBA was planned to be released on the amiga years ago, the name & look of the game definitely remind me of a screen shot of a game I saw in an Amiga mag years ago! What am I going to spend most time on now, Amiga, PC, Spectrum, C64 or the GBA? Tough decisions, hmmmm dont think I'll be spending too much time with the missus!! She hates me & my computers!! Never mind eh!! |

Welcome to the club Zeewolf....
i've only got 3 games for the GBA, but i'm getting 128 flash thou Mario Kart........ bloody excellent and includes the Snes tracks Tony Hawks 2.. great even if you've played the psx versions, cos of the viewpoint Golden Sun...... pretty RPG, FF7 style, haven't played it too much As for Amiga ports, i know there are loads coming out (check out EmuChina) if you find the screen is too dark, a m8 recently did a mod to his which included inserting a customized light in the GBA, and it worked great (even has a dark/light dial) Anyway, let us know what games you get... go to a sunday boot market and pick up some cheap GB games (they are now widescreen).... --- Golden Sun, reminds me of Zelda (the adventure part) and Final Fantasy (the fighting part), it got good reviews from most of the mags and is the best of its type for the GBA Last edited by Djay; 11 July 2002 at 22:46. |

is ISS the same as Winning Eleven on GBA? I've been playing Winning Eleven in a GBA emulator, and it's just GREAT! Comapring it to the PS1 version , I can't see it's much different on the gameplay. Of course the graphics aren't 3D and all, but the gameplay is nearly identical. Can't say about the sound because I play it with sound off (for speed sake)
But I didn't find it hard... actually, I still haven't been defeated so far, and I am playing on normal level, with weaker teams and all.. Maybe it's time to shift to hard level.. Oh, and I am rather good on WE4 , so maybe that says something |

Check out 'Pinball Challenge Deluxe' for the GBA.
I think you will find the tables very familar.. (Ignition, Steel Wheels, Beat Box, Nightmare, Partyland, Speed Devils, Billion $ Gameshow and Stones N Bones) Let the addiction begin all over again!! |

btw.. That light thing is called 'The Afterburner' and can be got from lik-sang which is also where I got my Flash Linker from.
I initially got my flash linker to 'test' games before I bought them but instead I found myself using it to learn to program on it plus the quality of some public domain releases are outstanding... Check out the PD version of Bust-A-Move with the 'official' licensed version and you will see the PD version walks all over it!. |
