Does the version on The Zone! require any installs? Like WHDload / JST? I only have WHDload installed.

It uses none of the above. It is pre-installed.

You know, the old way...

Anyway, just point,click and....play.

Description:
Capital Punishment (v1.1) after HD-installation
- This game dont like CPU caches at all! So, if JST loader will not help, you must turn off cache size by your CPU tools (in WinUAE, just change cache size to 0 MB and do reset), otherwise game will crush
- Quality test on Amiga 1200 Power (MC68040 cpu, 2 mb chip, 8 mb fast, hdd with OS3.5 installed)

You have A1200. So you have cache. Perhaps you could try something to turn your cache off.

And you should have JST installed. That was my mistake, when I told you it is clean install. I suppose it uses JST loader, but I simply wasn't aware of this.

Installed JST. Rebooted my A1200 whilst disabeling cache in the early boot menu (reached by pressing both mouse buttons on reboot).

Same effect, no succes...

Do you have access to someone else's Amiga? So you could try the game and compare it to your configuration (if it works).

Also, you could try asking CFOU! because it seems you and him have similiar configurations, and he already said he patched it on his Amiga.

Sorry for not being helpful .

I tried the WHDLoad version on my A4000 040 and it works right up to where the fighting starts then the screen goes back to WB with a WHDLoad error message. Damn...

Alternatively, if I try that same verson (from magix site) on my other A4000 with 060 card it works perfectly! So it seems the A3640 card and it's MMU that is in use caused problems? I tried the NoMMU and it reports it cannot do it.

ok I tried CFOU's version and it does the exact same thing. I get: Exception "Access Fault" ($7008) PC = $7E763CC (ExpMem $A53CC) Word Read from $FFFFF258.

Any ideas?

it's curious

can you try with 'debug' and 'expert' tooltypes and send to my all debug files created after your crash?

have you an A3640 rev3.0 or rev3.1?
it's seem this cards are some problems...
read it:
info4000 & a3640

I actually had a strange issue with (I think) a combi of WHDload & MCP..

I don't know how, but I started to get crashes with all my WHD installs & the error was somehow related to MCP.gurudat

I had to re-install MCP, then it worked for a while & then the problem returned. I decided to delete MCP completely and then.... Capital Punishment worked !

Strange but true...

I had a cracked version of the game when it first came out and i could only load it through booting with no-startup sequence as well. This game is very very hungry on Chipram!.. and i dont mean a bit, i mean ALOT!!!.. so its really of no surprise that it wont boot from workbench because i never could even on my A1200 030/50 & 16meg of fast back then. But it worked beautifully with no Startup.

I did also own the game later on though because when i bought the Original of T-Zero back in 98 it came on the CD as an extra, but i had to register with ClickBoom to access it but i never did.

Its a brilliant game though
