Help debugging a faulty CD32

Hi all

I've recently got my hands on a faulty CD32 unit, and would appreciate help bringing it back to life!

These are the symptoms:
- Power led is on
- Screen is black (monitor does get sync from the unit, sync seems to be lost after about 3-5 seconds)
- No sound
- No CDROM activity at all (no tracking attempt or disc spin)
- Same behavior when the CDROM is disconnected
- PSU was tested with a working unit, it is ok.

Most ICs are hot to the touch, none is suspiciously hot though.
All capacitors were tested with an ESR tester, all seem to be fine. There are no visible signs of leakage or other damage anywhere on the board.

I still need to find schematics (its a Rev3 board), but where do I begin with debugging?

Any ideas/advice would be great!
Thanx.
