A Challenge #2 TURRICAN 2
After the feeble response to the SB2 challenge, the next challenge is for a game I know a lot of you like to play.
Play through the first level of Turrican 2 and gain the maximum possible points. Instead of submitting a save-state, you can post a screenie of your end of level score BUT. For this reason this challenge relies upon honesty and is therefore only open to EAB 'regulars' and closes next Sunday : Definition of regular : ....Whoever Dastardly decides to be a regular member GOOD LUCK PEOPLE |

That isn't the end of level 1 though Dastardly. There's a bit more to get.
I might go and find the image of it if I'm a regular but I always sucked at Turrican |

Wow, I found some new secret areas scouring this map for a good score! Thought I already knew em all. Echo moves into pole position for now
For you doubters, I've made a short DivX clip (492k) to prove the score wasn't doctored |

@Akira
Lives are irrelevant. Lose as many as you like. Score is all that matters @Djay Of course you can enter Belgarath is the current leader. Kinda makes my score look a bit feeble now |

In an hour I'll give it a try. Right now the TV is tied up because I want to watch me anime series
After that, I'll see how I perform. I remember smoking that level. |

Hey Akira, instead of waiting for the TV you could always emulate!

He'll have to emulate, unless he plans to snap the TV with a digital camera to show us the score

I missed out on a few things on the level, so the score is DEFINATELY beatable (quite easily too)
I'll go back and redo it later |

I forgot to comment on the game in my earlier posts. I know it's been said time and time again, but damn - it's perfect in every respect. The graphics are gorgeous (put a screengrab in an image editor, there's a good 256 colours onscreen because of that copper effect, and this is OCS!), the music is nothing short of stunning, animation great - and gameplay second to none. Easily in my top 5 games of all time. |
