on disk #1 of CS1, there is the installer for QuickBrush4000. you dont have to install CS1 itself - but you can install both CS1 and CS2, they use different assigns ( c.studio: and studio: ) so they dont disturb eachother.

again long story, here is the solutions:
create a folder called "brushes" and copy the content of QB4000 disk 1-7 in it.
just single files on all those disks.
crashdisk (tosec) told me, disk#3 has a faulty imagefile - this would stop the normal installer - i think. so do it manualy

edit: and place the new folder either in CS1 or/and CS2 install directory and navigate to it, if you load a brush.

found: ShowMaker 1.0 Gold Disks 1991 ( 4 disks)
kind of presentation program with a nice GUI - not as cool as seen in scala, but kind of sequencer thing.
you can add a VideoToaster track and use its effects for the ShowMaker presentation. not so bad i guess.

it does also support genlocks, midi-events and scripting (arexx).

I have another application for the VideoToaster: WipeMaster (1992) (Byrd's Eye Siftware) (req. VideoToaster) (h DualCrew).dms
cannot say much about it, since it need the toaster to get an idea what is possible with it.
there are some textfiles with some basic information on the disk.

No Lightwave 5.5 on Amiga? A gamble for Newtek.

future development of LightWave on the Amiga. We will continue to
support 5.0, but 5.5 and subsequent versions will not be available for

The Amiga hardware and system software has remained stagnant while PC
systems have advanced rapidly. While there are third-party hardware and
software add-ons that can enhance the capabilities of extant Amigas,
they are expensive and only quasi-standard. Most Amiga LightWave users
have only basic systems used mainly as Toaster/Flyer stations. For the
invertment required to make their Amigas competitive LightWave systems,
it would be much more cost-effective to purchase a modern PC or Mac
system.

We've held the torch for the Amiga for many years -- quite a few more
than the company that made our compiler, by the way -- but times have
changed. PC systems are cheap, Macs are friendly, and even SGI's (which
will be really the most familiar to the Amiga user) have become quite
affordable. NewTek still supports the Amiga in many ways, but it is not
currently a viable LightWave platform.

just about time for another animation. found a good tutorial,
which explains the spline control values: tension and continuity.
using them properly (not yet optimal, it seems) , makes the sphere jump more realistic, i like it.

VideoToaster software runs without Hardware - compiled switcher binaries added to the ftp.

added VT42-Toasterless-0.1.lha to the ftp.
included are versions for the VideoToaster hardware aswell.

both come with slave and master switcher - still not sure how to use it.
updated howto-compile posting for the master & slave version.
The Editor (Edit binary) one can also compile, almost the same procedure,
as seen with the switcher, just three more assigns.
