Yup, ok, will go back to test6 and see if it happens there too
In the meantime, I also went from test6 to test7 on the MiST and V600 without any issues... |

Did you manage to duplicate it with older version? Did you originally use v2 pfs3aio? When does the error comes? Does it appear even if you boot without startup-sequence?
SX32Pro uses ROM scsi.device which shouldn't have any weird issues. |

Dang, thought I updated my post earlier today. I installed test6 and did not manage to reproduce the problem, and so I went back to test7, and annoyingly enough, the problem did not appear then either. Just now I have been using the system for hours with maybe a handful of reboots, and no problem. So I don't know what was going on earlier. Sorry :/
I wonder if perhaps I did not cold boot last time I went from test6 to test7, but that should not matter. Yes, booting from kickstart scsi.device, and then jumping to scsi.device 43.45 (A1200 variant) using LoadModule. One note on that though, due to how memory is configured on the SX32Pro, new ROM modules must be loaded to chipram to become resident, ThoR knows the details here. If I press ctrl-a-a or the reset button on the CD32, it goes back to original kick3.1 and modules needs to loaded again (followed by a soft boot). A couple of more details, while I remember... it also happened without startup-sequence. To be safe(r), I made a new backup partition (BUP:) (also pfs3aio though) and I copied the entire system there, and on reboot, if DH0: crashed, so did the BUP: - ie both the boot partitions. But anyways - I seem incapable of reproducing this today with test7, sadly, now everything just works, hah. Last edited by kolla; 05 March 2018 at 19:47. |

Awesome! How long does it take for Aminet to put releases online? Can't wait!

Nice job Toni. We are many who appreciate your kind efforts to support a very happy Amiga community.
I recall aminet uploads are usually available next day. |

Thanks.
Binaries are exactly same as in test #7 package, no need to wait for aminet download. I'll update first post when aminet download is available. |

Thank you Toni for the update !
Edit: Have updated a 2GB WB1.3 Amilator's HardFile with Test #7. Everything running smoothly so far (I might be wrong but looks slightly faster that previously) . Last edited by malko; 06 March 2018 at 09:44. Reason: further information |

Thanks Toni. That was super fast development.
Seems Aminet should also update their database server filesystem to pfs3aio, they keep crashing so frequently ;-) |

Great news for the Amiga. This is probably the first large project compiled with Bebbo's excellent GCC v6 port. It shows we finally have a modern C compiler that can produce decent code. Thanks to Toni for spotting bugs and Bebbo for fixing them quickly!

Quick question about upgrading from one test version to the other. when I went from the original PFS-aio to the first test version here, I did what was necessary with changing the filesystem in HDToolbox after copying the test file to the right place and running PFS doctor - all good.
When I upgraded to newer test versions, I did not do any of that, I simply copied the new file over the old file without doing anything in HDToolbox or running PFS Doctor. Is that the correct way to apply newer versions of test after applying it for the first time? |

just putting the pfs3aio file in the folder will do nothing as its only resident in the RDB after updating |

There is only two cases where it does not need to be installed in RDB:
- PFS3 is in KS ROM/extended ROM = ROM needs to be updated. - Using emulation in non-RDB mode with FileSys path pointing to pfs3aio file. |

Ok. I guess I have to update in hdtoolbox the same way I did the first time. Glad I asked. Thanks for confirming the correct method.
