I uploaded my first YouTube vid today, and yes its Amiga related. Its Classic WB ADV SP running (faster than expected) on an 020 A1200 with 8mb Ram expansion.

Today is a very special day since

It's my birthday
I managed to produce my first decent Amiga capture (not using WinUAE internal output feature though)

This peculiar capture method of mine has been debated over and over in my HowTo thread, but basically I am using a shareware (who said bloatware

?) called Camtasia Studio.
I think only TCD bothered to download my previous takes on .
So I thought about opening a free account on their video hosting web space called ScreenCast, the advantage over YouTube being you're not forced to reduce quality (but the offering is rather measly in terms of remote storage capabilities)

Without further ado, here is Wings of Death's first level captured LIVE @ 50 fps as you would see it on my 50 Hz capable 19" CRT !

I tried to make a video showing Dynamite and AmiNetRadio running on the A1200 030, but YouTube cut the audio out. I tried re-encoding this file four times in different formats, and three times the video wasn't acceptible by YouTube, and the one time the video did work, the audio didn't! I tried Xvid, FLV, MP3 audio, all sorts of options. Linux really stinks for video converting unless you want to do it by command line.

Anyway, until I make a better replacement video, please pretend you can hear sound and music coming from this - [ Show youtube player ]

It's a bad quality video and goes for 6 minutes, so only click on it if you REALLY want to see proof that Dynamite and AmiNetRadio run on the A1200.

Here's my newly established channel, Ketils Geek TV. I just finished the first episode which is a closer look at the Atari XEGS (eab crowd: boooooooooooooooooo) yeah, yeah.. Amiga videos will come! Hopefully you will find my first vid somewhat enjoyable, even though it's an Atari. :-)
