Mikmod's format checks (/mikmod/mikmod/src/loaders/) are much less aggressive than UADE's, all the modules you posted will pass through it's checks without any trouble. Another alternative to attempting perfect format detection (which is impossible IMO) is to use UADE's check by default but allow the user to force the use of a specific player library.

I have tried to download Multiplayer07.zip but the link doesn't work.
Has anyone got a mirror-link??

BTW, no one mentioned XMPlay 3.4.2.1 which utilizes the deliX plugin amongst many other nice plugins. DeliX alone supports 129 Amiga formats.

You can read about it here: http://dhost.info/pieknyman/

"Multiplayer" is not a good name for searching google, btw.

Waiting for 0.8, hopefully soon.

As for Deliplayer: It is discontinued and has known issues with Vista, so
meanwhile XMPlay is a good choice.

Ok, thanks for upping, CyberDruid!

Thanks man!

Ok, it tested it:
- When sliding the pitch-slider, you can't bring it back th 100%, only 96% and 105%.
- No support for .rar and .zip-files.
- No "Open File" icon , only playlist based.

But for the fact that it's free software i would say it's a nice attemp by
Andreas. For me, i keep using XMplay: http://support.xmplay.com/

So either you make a context menu on the slider with a reset option or change the label with the current percentage to an input box, so the value can be entered manual (and exact with is always hard with a slider )

We had that issue already
I hope bLAZER is working hard right now to improve the next version even more

Hey guys!

I've been on vacation for two weeks, and my server of course hang after a couple of days, that's why the download link didn't work. Everything is up and running again now.

The default slider value thing has been added for the next version.

zip and rar support will be added sometime in the future too...

"open file", there already is drag'n'dropping and the "add file(s)"-button in the playlist window - isn't that enough..?

Nice version bLAZER
Zip file support works really great, but I have one zip that wont work. Please try the file in the attachment. The file included in the zip plays fine in Multiplayer. I don't know what could cause the problem.
Attached Files
File Type: zip PUMPUPJ.ZIP (116.5 KB, 217 views)

It doesn't work because the ZIP was packed using the Implode algorithm i.e. a pre-2.0 version of ZIP was used, this suggests MultiPlayer is using zlib to unpack archives as this library only supports Deflate compression. Repack the ZIP with a modern archiver and the problem will disappear plus that file will come out smaller as Deflation is considerably more efficient.

Ah well or the recognition of old formats is implemented It should be no problem to use the old algorithm. If I want smaller files I use 7Zip (hmm, feature request ).

Yes, I use zlib for comression and apparently what OddbOd says is true...

I had a look at the 7z-code, and it would be great if u succeded to use this code since it has support for zip, 7z, rar, arj and a whole lot of of others. The problem is that the code is a big mess, so I'll see when/if I can get it done.

I have had a thought about archive support that you might not have considered, libxad, well the portable bits anyway. It supports many of the same formats as 7-Zip, is (L)GPL'd, has readable code, the author is not hard to find, and just for TheCyberDruid - it supports ZIP Implode compression.

Wow 7Zip support and the implode algorithm in one lib! That's really pretty nice OddbOd I hope bLAZER can use this lib in Multiplayer.

@bLAZER
Can you implement playlist load/save and the ability to delete only one file from the playlist in the next version?

Good Job

Hi blazer,

just tested it out and it works fine. If you can get in more formats like .cus, .dw and so on, it really is going to top deliplayer!

Good Job!

Hey Venku, yeah I want to support more Amiga formats aswell, however they probably need an emulated Amiga to work. So a bit complicated, but in time...
