A major update to the way that WinUAE handled all sorts of things means that an updated FS-UAE is a huge amount of work; not even directory hard drives will work now. Frode said he wanted to return to it at some point, but that's looking unlikely now as he concentrates on his games db.

Does anyone know how to disable the mouse click detection?
Clicking the mouse will send action_joy_0_fire_button no matter what... even when I set to none, no device, X, FS-UAE still treats mouse clicks as action_joy_0_fire_button. This is good for the crack-intros, but when using with netplay games it interferes with other players. Not a workaround, but its worth to mention that it wont fire to port 0 when port 1 is configured to use a mouse device. |

I discovered that the mouse/joy auto-switch
joystick_port_0_autoswitch=1 does not work when setting up a cd32 gamepad on port 0 joystick_port_0_mode=cd32 gamepad Perhaps this is due to a bug, but I am using the cd32 pad now as a workaround as it also disables any mouse input... EDIT #1: This workaround only works if you are using an actual Joystick (does not work with joystick emulated via keyboard keys) EDIT #2: new workaround (although not allowed in-game) setting a high port to use the mouse disabled the mouse trigger example: joystick_port_5_mode=mouse as long as any other port uses the mouse, it does not send fire signal to port 0 Last edited by ztronzo; 04 May 2019 at 09:46. |

FS-UAE 2.9.8dev is being uploaded to the Ubuntu (devel) PPAs right now, pushing there first since FS-UAE was missing for the latest Ubuntu releases. Changelogs and versions for other platforms will appear as they are ready (might not be fully released today).

Here are the list of changes in this version (the list might not be complete due to the time that has passed since last release, so I might have missed some changes):
A new development version has been released. Changes in FS-UAE 2.9.8dev: * New option whdload_quit_key to gracefully quit slaves. * Do not alias mouse clicks when joystick_port_0_autoswitch is off. * Added Build-Conflicts: libroar-dev to fix building on OBS. * Added sharp-bilinear-simple.shader [rsn8887]. * New options window_hidden, window_minimized [cnvogelg]. * Removed GLee from source. * Fixed JIT direct access on modern Linux distributions. * Changed default sync method on Windows to swap-finish. * Updated bezel. * New option: frame_time (can be used to limit emulation time before vsync). * Compatibility updates for a couple of shaders [guest.r]. * Imported updated translations from crowdin.com. Changes in FS-UAE Launcher 2.9.8dev: * Support new whdload_quit_key option with online game database. * Disabled (global) whdload_quit_key setting, see new FS-UAE option. * Fixed problem on Windows where devices were sometimes not detected. * Remove kickstart warnings when not using Amiga platform. * Added elapsed time to log file (to debug startup time). * Imported updated translations from crowdin.com. There are not that many changes; the main focus is to get a release out that is working, and get the ball rolling again. Due to updated build environments (etc), there might be issues with the new builds, so please report new problems that have arisen since last time. The main changes in this release is: - Support for gracefully quitting games by injecting WHDLoad quit key (trying to avoid accidental data loss when using WHDLoad games with the online database). - Fixed the device helper on Windows, where in some cases, attached mouse/joysticks failed to be detected by the launcher. I'm currently fixing some build issues on macOS and with the generic Linux build, and there is also a problem with FS-UAE Arcade for Ubuntu that was uploaded yesterday, I'm fixing that as well. I will post links to builds when they are ready |

Yes, the folder structure has been changed a bit indeed, tried to simplify it a bit. There are no longer separate portable distributions. Instead, you just use the normal "suite". The presence of a Portable.ini file decides if it's running in portable mode or not.
You can use your existing portable install. Just delete any old "Programs"/"System" dirs or similar, and copy over the new "System" directory and "Launcher"/"Arcade" shell script launchers Last edited by FrodeSolheim; 05 May 2019 at 16:28. |
