Yes, but only to support a minor, yet interesting new feature.

But nothing major over there, as our focus this time revolved around making things easier for the user who gets a huge amount of new cool things to enrich their AmigaOS experience.

This sounds very promising! Looking forward to seeing the full feature-list!

And no - just like 3.1.4 - You will have the option to make use of an older ROM at the expense of consuming additional RAM for the soft loaded updates. This also means you cannot gain the expansion.library improvements (it can't be soft-updated) or the earliest boot up exec code (i.e. 68060 support is not in KS 3.1, but it is in 3.1.4).

Cheers

Howdy,
Just curious, what's the latest on CDTV support?

There were some questions about this about a year ago I think, anything changed since or are things the same as then, meaning no CDTV support?

Would you think it would be worthwhile to include experimental/limited CDTV/CD32 AmigaOS 3.2 support in the release version?

I mean by limited that a few features would not be present, and that proper installation on those machines will require advanced skills and dedication far beyond the commonly expected for the rest of the machines + no official support.

Without going to specifics, would you agree to an idea/concept such as this?

@All

Let us know. May be we can do something about CDTV/CD32 on AmigaOS 3.2 as long as you are okay with the above.

Speaking for myself, I would love an experimental CD32 version. I promise not to bother you if I cannot get it working

Yep, I think it would be a great idea for those who are into maxing out their setups. There are a lot of people doing significant mods with their CD32s these days, so even limited support would be of interest to many of them I'd imagine.

It would be cool to see CDTV/CD32 support in OS 3.2.

Just got 68020 28mhz accelerator for my CDTV and tried OS3.1.4.

One note, those included glow icons are too heavy and OS3.9 icons are more lightweight. So if there could be more icon sets? Basic - Medium - heavy?

Yeah, an eventual, even limited support for CDTV/CD32 would be nice

@utri007

May I ask what it cost you? Is it easy to disable for compatibility?

Not much 130€, or something like that. Not possible disable, there is no 68000 cpus.

I just remembered why I removed OS3.1.4 from my other machines. Turn CDTV on and got a "couldn't open workbench library 37.x", restart boot without a startup-sequence and loadwb command, then invalid resident library.

If the physical 3.2 release is on CD-ROM then a experimental CDTV/CD32 release would be nice.
