Ok Djay, you have convinced me. I have upped my pledge to £150 now, though I had to move it to my credit card but I think its worth it as I've been waiting nearly 20 years for a proper sequal to Frontier. I really consider this more as Frontier II rather than Elite IV. Never played Elite as it was bit before my time. I wish the Frontier name was in there rather than Elite but oh well. Like 'Frontier: Galaxies' or something. 'Elite: Dangerous' just sounds a bit lame to me. Maybe that's just me.

Ps. I couldn't give a rats arse about a Mac version.

Seems like £42 is the magic one to get the best version (With all the starting positions and scenarios), I really never liked Elite or Frontier though so it's a waste for me, glad it's fans seem to have made it possible though.

Well done.

gratz on joining the "Founder" club Steve to be honest, i'm really stretching my budget too but i've probably spent that amount of money on space games since Elite 2 and never been as satisfied.

Here's to hoping Mac users get some action too, though I dont see why he's excluded the RasPi and Linux

Great news!

The thread can stay sticky for the next couple of days to give the Mac version the best chance it deserves.

2014 is a long way off, doesn't the world end in 2012 or something? Where can I buy a copy of First Encounters today? I am a huge Elite fan on the Amiga but never knew about First Encounters.

Well I guess this is 2013, and we're all still here, so maybe not. 2014 is only about 360 days off...
