Has anybody tried this on real A500 (standard KS1.3 + 512kb slow) ?

I can't get it to load but the same disk works fine in my A1200 though.

[edit]
Nevermind, it works now.

I converted the DMS to ADF the first time before I wrote the disk back in TsGUI.
Writing the DMS straight to disk seems to have done the trick.

[edit 2]
Game completed on real A500, great crack.

Hi All (1st post),

Actually, we checked it on A1000/512kB with kickstarts 1.1-1.3 and it worked (at least we played the 1st level for few minutes).

It works perfectly on my A500, KS1.3 and 512k Kb slow .
Didn't finished it though, but Retroplay if you confirm that it works until the end then it is great .

@Retroplay: What's your hardware config on your A1200? It doesn't run on my A1200 - even after B1260 has been deactivated. Crashes right before the cracktro starts. I made a few tests with the emulator and it seems to have a problem with higher CPU clock rates. I can use nearly every imaginable hardware config and it works all the time, but as soon as I change the CPU speed from ~7.14MHz to a higher value it won't start anymore Can anyone confirm this?

I only used my A1200 (ACA1232/33Mhz) to write the image back to floppy.
The game was played and completed on my A500 (rev 8a).

Didn't check it but I suppose the game (loader) probably hasn't been fixed for 680x0 CPU's, the original only works on 68000 as well.

Odd. Don_Adan claimed that he finished it on his A4000T. Or is he using a shape shifter and switched to 68000 CPU? Anyway, looking forward to the announced 2nd release which maybe fixes the problem.
Good work btw. This is the most elaborate crack for Turrican II since about 23 years.

Hmm, maybe he also turned off caches?

Just checked it and noticed I've been mentioned as inspiration in the (quite nice!) crack intro, nice one. Should have bothered to finalise my 1-disk version that I made years ago but in the end I got bored as usual. So all credit to the Wanted Team guys for a nice release!

Hard to believe it's that old. Still arguably the most impressive game on the Amiga in my opinion, an timeless masterpiece that we'll remember for the rest of our lives.

Some more tests was done and this version works for 68060 too (A4kD, 75MHz, original Amiga 1.76 MB disk drive). This version works only for original Amiga drives or good adapted PC drives. Then you must have ESCOM's disk drive in your A1200 or poor adapted PC drive. No fix will be available for these drives, the best is change your disk drive to 100% Amiga compatible drive (original or correctly adapted PC).

A fix to handle such drives would be simple to do, instead of waiting for the motor bit in an endless loop just use a timed loop (500 ms) for that.

I'm not trackloader expert, but not all trackloader routines works for Turrican 2 game. For me good Amiga disk drive is better solution, due no problem for other Amiga titles (f.e. Alien Breed) too, and good disk drive can be buyed for about 5-6 Euro.

One disk version of BC Kid, second and last Amiga game made with Pegasus AT Development System is available on the Wanted Team page.
This version works correctly only on real Amigas with good (original or correctly adapted PC) drives.

The Pegasus AT Development System is an hardware board with a cable going from a PC AT to an amiga. It allows to develop code in ASM on the PC, and then download the code in the amiga memory, and run it from there. this way, if the code crash, there's no risk to loose anything. You Power off on the amiga, and you can send again the code debugged. (it allows also "easy" debugging, you can see the 68000 registers on the PC).

Known otherwise as P.D.S. dev system.

You mentioned only hardware side (perhaps done by Jens), but this system has also software side, like: good cruncher (one of the best for Amiga), disk system (really long tracks, disk dir). Perhaps can exist a few more software tools too, maybe map editor etc.

No, thanks. This one is too easy and too monotonous. Maybe other good Amiga titles will be available as 1 disk version.
