This mean only one thing - any future FPGA accelerator board should have external SRAM (SDRAM?) for cache to release local resources... Hope Vampire500 can be redesigned...

The Cyclone2 has 8000 Logical Elements (in this space must fit the core Phoenix), plus 2x4kb of caches (inst and data). The fastmem (SRAM - SDRAM) is not included in the FPGA. The vampire 600 is also a memory expansion of 64mb. ...the vampire 500 will have a Cyclone3 with 16000Logical Elements (or 24000 logical elements i don't know the final choice of Igor...) and for sure an ide connector. With the new boards, we will run Phoenix without compromises Last edited by cgugl; 17 February 2015 at 13:29. |

IDE... lot of I/O's - not sure - seem to be (today) outdated - perhaps MMC/SD, perhaps eMMC on board? (4GB should be OK for system and other tools). Hope board will have some feature connector to extend system capabilities (USB at least). Thx Guys!!! |

"Vampire 600 pre sale thread at amibay: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php...E-ORDER/page33 - "Can admin or moderator lock this thread anyway, because this pre-order is done long time ago because I was unable to produce enough cards. " ---But as i read Kipper2k is now making new ones ? If so, great Waiting for that new web page |

Just wanted to say what incredible work - and very well done to everyone involved with the project.
I am sure everyone is aware of these demos but check these out from the team developing the core's forum:- http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=1¬e=2637 http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=1¬e=2559 I think FPGA accelerators emulating 68k processors could make for some very exciting software possibilities on classic Amiga in the future! Keep up the good work PS - i would prefer slightly less mips but excellent compatibity with a variety of 68k processors as is being developed (80mips vs 60mips?) either would be incredible in an A600 This is what I love about the Amiga scene, you think the limit has been reached then suddenly someone invents something else to move it along some more! |

Agree, video definitely looks like it is played at high speed, which is very unfortunately when trying to show the speed of an accelerator..
