new update, now game is fully playable. Still a few things to fix but really close.

Improved the bobs/sprite engine to display same gfx with sprites or bobs depending on the level. Which saved level 2, and makes level 3 smoother. Also auto frameskip when rendering took too much time, which is barely noticeable but never freezes. At some point I was worried I couldn't make it. Hardware sprites were a lifesaver

You might check AmigaBill's twitch vod Feb 4, just before 3 hour mark when he plays this. His commentary and chat agreed its very difficult on first board. Might need some tweaks ?

Great work!!!
Finally a very good port of Donkey Kong that Amiga fans can be proud of!

Any thoughts of adding "Burger Time" in your future bucket list?

Having the original Donkey Kong on the AMIGA natively is pure legend, then transferred to floppy is a pleasure.
Unfortunately I absolutely didn't remember how ruthless and hard it was to deal with, this makes me wonder how much we were truly joystick geniuses when we were little?

Tested on AMIGA 1200+Vampire V2, Floppy Version!

One suggestion about the sound effects, some of them got noise, probably because the use of dithering on the conversion to the Amiga sample, I normally disactivate the Dithering on sample conversion because it generates hiss noise.

Another thing to do reconvert the sound effects with less filtering and activate the Amiga filter to get rid of the noise.

Yes, you are right. We have always played the Bignonia C64 conversion or the superb oxyron port for the little Commodore.

Holy moly !! now THIS is the Donkey Kong "PREPARE TO DIE" Edition

Normally i clear a few of those boards (mame) without loosing a Life, but not in this release.

It whoops my Smurfy butt... so hard
(are those the highest dip switch settings, or what?)

But thats ok, i like the insane difficulty of this

Thanks JOTD !!!

Dunno if this is already mentioned.
This happened to the latest WinUAE, on both A500 and 1200 configs.

Tested in WinUAE 5.1.0 in A500/1200 mode and UAE jit mode, no problem.

In conjunction with the ACA500plus I have no complete sound with Donkey Kong, Pacman and Frogger.
Does anyone have the same effect? I have the new versions on the A500.

argh you got more than 8 brown barrels! There are 10 slots, but I didn't think it was possible (and I tested it A LOT). not enough hardware sprites to render them! I'll have to improve my display engine... again...

About the difficulty: there is no difficulty setting. The game is just hard. With some practice level 1 is easy. Elevator level always was hard after a while with the bouncer.

Yeap, the game freezes. It happens on the third stage (level 1 again)

The game is exactly as the arcade. Hard as it should be, perfect port.

Been watching people play it on AmigaLive twitch channel and that screen crash has happened several times using a500 and a1200 config. It's not just you I've seen it happen often with people as they progress.

I'll release a temp fix with only 8 barrels, then I'll work again to up to 10 barrels

Edit: updated, with better sounds too.

Edit2: that wasn't so complicated to switch to BOB barrels after 8 barrels. Updated. Please report any other bugs, because it is probably the final version if there aren't any issues.
