I was under the impression you had bought a "new" CD32. Hopefully you can test more with what you have now.

But why does it do it when I have DiagROM installed then? DiagROM doesnt touch the Amiga Hardware before outputting to the serial port.

I have a new CD32 but its a nice one and i'm not developing hardware in it.

I don't know enough to be able to answer that, but Toni Wilen might know what is happening. Have you tried just having the broken drive connected?

Such a long boot wait is abnormal definitely.

I'm pretty sure its a poor decoupling issue but i've changed the two main caps and no joy.

No. I can burn an a1200 image into a rom so it runs in a CD32.

If you decide to try that, be aware that the cd32 uses some weird interleaving in its ROM.

Well done on getting the IDE working.

With regard to slow bootup times of the CD32, have you tried bypassing the on/off switch?

Will give that a go.

Riser is neither! Its from someone who shall remain anonymous. I was beta testing. Suppose I can't complain but it was frustrating

Remember to change your WHDLoad executable to WHDLoadCD32 for better working on the console!

One question: if you power up with no IDE or the partition is not bootable, does it go to the regular Amiga CD32 screen to be able to boot from CD?

Nice work!

Using SysSpeed's drive benchmark, I get about 1.3 write, 1.6 read (MB/s) through the SX-1 ide. I can dump the fastram bench if you want. I imagine once you get that on there, it'll be a bit quicker.

That's how it works for the SX-1, so I imagine it would behave the same.

And how do you usually have this configured in your setup? Is your partition bootable? Or do you rather keep it non-bootable and boot via early startup menu?
