I sure the h hope you're not using an LCD monitor. They have overcontrast and oversaturation, the pret-ty garish color schemes don't really need that on top of them!

Venus the Flytrap have the best ones so far here, color scheme in Agony is nicer & a little less 'primary' tho (even if just as saturated). The thing was, if you made a subtle gradient from light grey to light blue-grey, you got a gradient of 3 colors! 12-bit RGB

Edit:
Well, maybe not best, but I have a thing for that game. Funnily I don't like these RGB saturated ones, but in this game they worked.

Ofc Fire & Ice shows exemplary use of coppershades, even changing as you go! There's separate problem from solving it technically, well, why don't YOU try to make a 3 screen high coppershade that is varied and smooth!? Just deciding on the design is way harder the higher the coppershade is!

And there's also Onslaught.

That Lithell in Space game looks like a blast! Gotta at least try it ... with shades on

To me, Toki was the best platform game I ever played. Everything in this game was good : graphics, gradients, music, playability, maps, enemies, ... Very good game

Trog
Trolls (not a favorite of mine..but nice gradient´s)
Captain Planet (same)

Just to think; what an improvement a nice gradient Sky would make in World 1 & 5 of Turrican 1 .... ....

I would go nuts for a Gradient Hack of Turrican 1

Im 99% sure i recall making some custom multi game disk menu with gradient background.

Stuffing small games and fitting them on one disk..

But I can't remember what program I was using back then 33 yrs ago?

Maybe someone knows...?

Toki was amazing, I loved the arcade, everything about it, music, gfx and was blown away with how good the Amiga version was. I never really liked platformers on the Amiga but it's one of the few I finished on the Amiga.

I love me some nice copper gradients too, a fave of mine was elf by ocean, remember thinking the ST version was amazing back in the day, until I played the Amiga version. Something about the overall artwork and those palettes. Ah nostalgia.
