Please don't try to break that record.
I think no game release will ever break the record of 'Duke Nukem if ever's delay time (okay maybe if it's intentional ).

Funny.

Psygore has not mentioned ANY word about the removal of password protection.

and @StingRay:
Please do NOT stop working on this now.
I think a working disk version will definitely be a very good idea, as I do not like it if a game only works to the end with a WHD install.
There should always be a working alternative for real Amiga users without HD, e. g. die-hard old-schoolers with A1000 or A500.

I didn't play whole the game, no password has been removed.

Send me your savegame when the password request appears.

Here some sentences from the game:
"A Password-Fairy appears ..."
"You failed in the last password! You should better use your manual next time!"
"You should now better press RESET!"

I would have thought searching for any code relating to that last string would do the job, or searching for a BRA that branches to itself.

There's still an "Accessing Disk" display from time to time. Could you remove this one too?

well the accessing disk is normal.... this game can be loaded in 1 pass if you have 6mb of RAM. it's said in the manual that the protection is NOT easy to remove !

Psygore, i will mail you tomorrow evening the game manual, you'll see by yourself.

I have enough memory to load the full game at once, that's not the problem. Only cosmetics, i don't want to read this loading requester anymore.

It's a text file, no direct code relating. Btw, I prefer to test before saying that the password prot is removed.

Well, the German and English manual mentions password checks. Can't really read the French manual.

Maybe a bad German -> English -> French translation?

Found on Wiki:

Quote:
Despite only a few original English versions being sold copies nevertheless spread all over the world. It is notable that only the copy protection but not the password protection was removed in these copies. Password requests are not made at the start of the game but at intervals in the game repeated after some time. Just ignoring these requests or a wrong code leads not to an abrupt end to the game, but gameplay deteriorating until it becomes unplayable, so that a copy of the manual is still required.
