Check if you have "data/save" in your directory. If you haven't used the provided installer this directory isn't there and save slots won't work.

CSB update will be done eventually. Maybe not right now as that one took me several evenings to make it right.

Yes it has those directories on the install. Save game worked when slots disabled (default), asked for disk when slot0 selected in WHDLoad start menu.

Hi, I'm the crazy guy behind the DM Encyclopaedia http://dmweb.free.fr/
You might find my ReDMCSB project interesting, see here: https://www.dungeon-master.com/forum...ic.php?t=29805
The latest archive (from 2021) available in that thread contains the source code to all versions of DM/CSB, including all Amiga versions known to me (and all the necessary tools to build the executables). You can use that source code to build executables without the copy protection (DM/CSB Atari ST & DM Amiga 2.x versions). Building CSB Amiga 3.x versions without the copy protection would require some tweaking and testing, but should be possible.

That sounds amazing. Heading there now. Do you think new builds for platforms like the pi could be made?

For a moment I thought you were referring to a "High Definition" version (more detailed than the normal ones); then I realized that HD means Hard Disk installable...

that adf is the WHDLoad install (only v.3.x DM) and hints and pics. But I guess that someone has bothered to put it on an adf means something.... Good work to jotd.

Well this contains the source code to rebuild the original executables. Porting the game to new platforms would of course be possible but require some work to manage/replace all I/O (keyboard, mouse, sound, video, floppy, ...). I don't have any plans to do such ports, but would be happy to help answering questions.

Someone already did: http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/Game...scription.html CSBwin is based on a reverse engineered version of the game. Basically the author translated all the assembly language to C to get an identical version of the game.

You're right I didn't remember there was a raspberry pi version of CSBwin.
CSBwin is a port of the Atari ST version of DM and CSB. Some features are missing compared to the Amiga versions which have more sounds, stereo, the automap in CSB...
