Here's the latest update of my Turrican for MSX! Davide Bottino, editor of Zzap! as well as the graphic designer behind the ongoing development of the remake of Toki on C64, has redesigned ALL the first level gfx and some of the sprites and their animations. To be honest he redesigned all of them but to implement some of them I have to solve the problem of the limited amount of VRAM on MSX1 which only allows you to store 64 16x16 sprites (I already have some ideas about it but having started a parallel project to develop for MSXdev'24 I will test these ideas later). For now my advice is to set the quality of the video on YouTube to 720p50 to enjoy all the details of the fantastic graphics designed by Davide! And with scanlines enabled (or better yet on a real CRT TV) it's even better!
Soon (a matter of hours, I suppose, you will be able to enjoy the tech demo directly online on the File-Hunter website)
And now some credits:

Factor5: Original game
Giuseppe Ettore Pintus (thegeps): MSX programming
Davide Bottino: MSX graphics
Toni Galvez: Design of the main sprite and its animation, digitized voice
Chris Huelsbeck: Original music
Gabriel Caffarena (BitCaffe): MSX Music
Arturo Ragozini (ARTRAG): PCMENC (digitized voice encoder and sample replayer on MSX)

Amazing work. A pity that Turrican was never made for the MSX even though it was »ported« to the Speccy and CPC.
