I have rebooted my system again and created a backup :-D

Some Warp3D libraries were wrong. The problem is fixed now.

Quake 3 Arena still runs very bad. And also with some demos that require Warp3D or MiniGL there are problems.

I think it is because of Crossover (Wine) the support is a bit bad here.

I have created a video and will make it available later. And also my WinUae configuration maybe there are some improvements.

I'd say that's fine, you have to assume that "voodoo 3"
it is not a card suitable for 4.1 among those available.
(real hardware) while with WinUAE it is a big step forward.
So using it you have to be aware that there are limits.

Even in the collection of "Demos" that you have, not all of them will work
it's not you who did something wrong.
So from time to time you can also find Demos on the various sites, try them and see if they work using "Voodoo 3".

The rest of the system is practically perfect you can listen to music, watch videos and do much more.
And a good emulation.

As for "games" like Quake etc.
You can do without them basically I mean it's just to see how they run and if they are configured well, even for fun.

But actually there are different solutions to play Quake :-)
No need to use WinUAE.

It is clear that you are looking for a good emulation done right.
It shows in what you're doing.
And the first time I find someone who doesn't stop at the classic basic installation.
Apart from a few others, who have configured some games but then we don't know why they don't share their experiences.
A concept that I can not understand :-)

You can use many other applications for example E-UAE to see the demos written in 68k for example as always even there you will not find 100% compatibility but a high percentage of demos that can be seen easily. Using 4.1 it is possible to do so.
I modified E-UAE to fit Voodoo3 and now it works fine with a configuration file with the right parameters.

I took a look at your configuration.
It seems that everything is fine, I seem to have seen that you have chosen the Z3 Ram as "Real" this in 4.1 increases performance.
If this is not the case, set the Z3 Ram to "Real" and not to "Automatic".

And then comes the part of the "Rewarp" libraries and various patches.
That you can start doing later.
When you have the system you like it is the solid foundation.

And start to see how you could make bigger changes to the system bit by bit.

I was able to get "OpenGL ES 2.0 with EGL Wrapper" working
it clearly wasn't perfect but something worked.

The problem is that I stupidly didn't keep the .hdf where it worked.
And still using it now I have not been able to make it work as I was able then.
But I had used some driver "it's ATI libraries written for 4.1" to do this.
So in fact I don't know the reasons WinUAE was able to make them work.
But as I repeat, I was no longer able to do it even if I never went back to do other tests..

Assume that once you have the stable system then make other changes.

And you will always be able to add something more little by little.

Congratulations you are making a nice system.
It's nice to share your experiences when you have time, that's what forums with smart people are for.

I hope to share more experiences with you because the 4.1
it's a system used by few :-)

here I made another video, just if you want to check it out:

It's fun to watch their videos even if I'm a little envious that it goes well with me, but not as perfect as with them.

I need a native version of WinUae for MacOs to compare.

But as you said there are limits, I emulate 2 systems once Windows and then again Amiga PPC it is remarkable how fast the whole thing runs even on my Mac with ARM Cpu. Just imagine what would happen if WinUae would run natively on Macs with ARM.For me I have now created a well working AmigaOs4.1 system.

And yes it gives me a lot of pleasure to be able to use it. Many things apart from the 3D stuff work very well and run at acceptable speed.

I hope one day WinUae will also support Windows ARM it could be the next step for WinUae.....I volunteer to be a beta tester :-D

@Toni

Will there be support for Windows ARM at some point ?

@White

Could you make another video about Odyssey please?

From the start directly about page layout of different pages.

Browser Odyssey is really the weak part
for those who emulate 4.1 (and not only for those who emulate it).
Currently Odyssey is able to navigate to some pages but nothing more.
Go to Youtube and just watch a few videos but nothing more.

So on the AmigaOS side you can use it with sites like "OS4Depot" to directly download the files that interest you precisely for 4.1 and other sites dedicated to "amiga" where you can download Demo-Scene.

even on EAB it's fine.
But it actually doesn't work well at all.

For this I'm using "Browservice"
Clearly whoever has a "Real Amiga" machine has support for "graphic acceleration, let's say so".
But it's an old browser.
Then you would not be able to navigate well.
But it's good to download "Amiga" files at least if you emulate it because the files are small for Amiga.

Were you interested in knowing the settings or the browsing speed?

I have also done some tests with Odyssey it is really very slow compared to OWB,NetSurf and iBrowse.

I'm generally concerned with internet speed....es a bit slow here on my end. Although I have a very fast internet connection.

When I listen to internet radio and at the same time browse the internet with iBrowse the connection often breaks from the radio stream and everything is re-buffered.

I use RTL8029 in my configuration

It's normal that's right
There are these limits.

so I had put this video with Odyssey showing two videos on YouTube.
You have to take into account that with "Browservice" just to make you understand why I use it, we can say "deactivate the audio in WinUAE" because it also takes care of the audio.
And in this case you can use something else on AmigaOS without affecting WinUAE audio slowing everything down.
Basically the WinUAE audio remains can be used to do something else.

let's talk about "audio" resources clearly not even on modern PC it makes sense to hear several things at the same time :-)

taking into account that "AfterBurner" is also there that logs everything is a good result.
In practice everything is fluid.

Unfortunately, your command for the user startup was totally wrong. the correct entry is:

run >nil: *>nil: nm2mw

Thanks anyway it works now.

I have already seen the video it distorts the real result of WinUae.

Don't be angry but your videos don't reflect what a normal user wants to do with winuae and can do without much experience.

It only shows what is possible, but it is not user friendly.

They should stick to the normal standards.

And believe me our videos are watched and also analyzed I think it's good and hope it makes more people use WinUae.

It is a great software. Thanks Toni

Of course, I try to do something else,
I'm also using "ffmpeg" with "yt-dlp" to watch live video, it's working perfectly.
It runs in X64 but WinUAE uses it
I like to have fun like this :-)

Amiga has always been a hack, even the real one after all.

ffmpeg is also available for MacOs and that as a native Arm version. I think integrating the whole thing into WinUae will be the hardest part.

It's just a pastime that I'd like to share with others,
who are more experienced than me.
This would also save me from reading and watching various tutorials.

In summary AmigaOS has always been a system that can be adapted.

Just have two versions of Odyssey
A classic one that just downloads files and so on.
The second version of Odyssey I modified to make it compatible with "ffmpeg and yt-dlp or youtube-dl" by disabling the calls to the various pre-set MIMEs otherwise it wouldn't work.
And suitably modified.
And which maps to "ffmpeg" on the "Windows" side

Here you can see a basic example:

[ Show youtube player ]

as you can see "ffmpeg" processes the video with "Windows"
it transmits it in real time to AmigaOS.
The final script is finished, now everything happens automatically without having to do it manually.
what you see is an old video.

For the MAC you could use if you feel like trying "qemu-kvm"
with for example "AmiDeb" based on FS-UAE
but at the moment only PicassoIV is being emulated.

here you can see an example of "qemu-kvm" with AmigaOS 4.1
to get an idea that you could adapt to your MAC:

[ Show youtube player ]

This is all part of a small project I'm working on when I can.

Wine hasn't been used for a lifetime and I don't know the progress made in recent times.
But it seems from what I've read that it can be used but I've never tried it in the latest versions.

I'm not going through a good time in my life.
And doing these things also helps me pass the time and distract myself.

And also the same authors of programs like FS-UAE and WinUAE
I guess they go into these projects as best they can
and make their work available to us.

And without them all these tests could not be done.
this is clear.

But somehow nothing prevents you from making changes based on your own ideas.

Impressive how well it runs...

I tried the variant Qemu and AmigaOs4.1 a long time ago, but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work.

AmiDeb is not available for MacOs.... don't forget I don't use Linux but MacOs there are many things a bit different.

The variant with QEMU would be perfect for me only so I would have the full speed of emulation and would have even more fun.
Under MacO there are not many things that could be improved. But I love MacOs and just wanted to use this system.

I have already sold all my PC stuff because I was not satisfied with Windows...

I have tried a few things MorphOs together with Qemu ran here on my machine really fast.
I have unfortunately deleted the videos.

Unfortunately I was not able to install the Sam460/Pegasos version of AmigaOs4.1 under Qemu because the graphic support was very bad and there were only artifacts.

I think I will enjoy what just and spizell under MacOs already works and who knows what the future still brings.

Compiling it for ARM64EC is simple and already possible. Of course totally untested. Plain ARM64 is not possible without getting all dependencies in ARM64 binary format first.

But there are usual problems: Aranym 68k ARM JIT is ARM32 only currently. PPC emulation is x86/x64 only and I am not interested in taking later QEMU PPC part that supports ARM64. PPC emulation (for me) was just a an experiment, I am not interested in "supporting" it.

Thank you Toni for your answer.

I think in the future the ARM architecture will prevail and it would be a pity if WinUae doesn't make it.

I would have compiled the code myself, but I just don't have the knowledge and I'm not suited for that. I am just an Amiga emulator freak and not a programmer like you are.

There are already first attempts to port the ppc-plugin to arm, the attempt failed unfortunately. All the plugins that are linked for ARM MacOs do not work FS-UAE for ARM Mac.

https://fs-uae.net/download#macosx

I have collected a lot of information about them and I know that the ppc part of WinUae was only a small experiment. It still became a success and you know what is currently possible with it.

Which part of WinUae you continue to support is of course up to you. I appreciate your work very much and am satisfied with what is currently possible with WinUAE.

JIT and PPC is (and has always) been someone else's problem. I don't like working with non-m68k assembly which is required part of programming JIT compilers.

Hello my friend I am in the process of installing AmigaOs4.1 via Qemu 7.2.0. It is incredibly fast, but I can't install it something is wrong with the graphics output.

Maybe someone has an idea how to fix the problem. Maybe there is something missing. With MorphOs the whole thing works without problems.

[ Show youtube player ]

These are my start parameters:

qemu-system-ppc -M sam460ex -m 2048 -rtc base=localtime -vga cirrus -drive if=none,id=cd,file=Sam460InstallCD-53.58.iso,format=raw -device ide-cd,drive=cd,bus=ide.1 -Laufwerk if=none,id=hd,file=sam460.img,format=raw -device ide-hd,drive=hd,bus=ide.0 -boot order=c,menu=on -device rtl8139,netdev=mynet0 -netdev user,id=mynet0 -device es1370

I apologize if I am a bit off topic and left the original path. There are many Amiga friends reading here and maybe someone has a solution to my problem.

don't know if this is your problem you have to patch the original iso with this file:
http://zero.eik.bme.hu/~balaton/qemu....58.iso.bsdiff

sudo apt install bsdiff

bspatch Sam460InstallCD-53.58.iso Sam460InstallCD-53.58-patched.iso Sam460InstallCD-53.58.iso.bsdiff

and you shouldn't have any more problems

This will not solve your problems with emulating 4.1
Although it's a nice job, it lacks graphics card support
which for 4.1 means everything.
Some programs in SDL will work.

It doesn't even make sense to make "hacks" for "PicassoIV"
because it's not worth it.

Unfortunately the work is not carried out in a constant manner.
Not the author's fault, but it would take a dedicated group of people to help him.

Installation:

qemu-system-ppc -machine sam460ex -m 2G -rtc base=localtime -serial mon:stdio -device ide-cd,drive=hd,bus=ide.1 -drive file='/home/white/Scaricati/Sam460InstallCD- 53.58.iso',if=none,id=hd,format=raw -device ide-hd,drive=disk,bus=ide.0 -drive file='/home/white/Scaricati/8gb.hdf',if= none,id=disk,format=raw -device ES1370 -device ne2k_pci,netdev=mynet0 -netdev user,id=mynet0

No CD after "boot from hard-disk" installation

qemu-system-ppc -machine sam460ex -m 2G -rtc base=localtime -serial mon:stdio -device ide-hd,drive=disk,bus=ide.0 -drive file='/home/white/Downloads/8gb. hdf',if=none,id=disk,format=raw -device ES1370 -device ne2k_pci,netdev=mynet0 -netdev user,id=mynet0

in principle it is this, refer to the site:

Thanks for the tip there is much to read. It seems to be a general problem of Qemu 7.2 ARM Mac version. The prebuilt packages contain errors.

I will compile it myself now and see if it works.

I don't care about the 3D stuff, I just want it to work halfway decent. It's enough for me if I can listen to some music and surf the internet. And use the general software of AmigaOs4.1 without this 3D stuff. I can run E-Uae and some old games.

It will have limitations, but if I can get it to run it will be much faster than WinUae in its current form. Also without 3d support

This is what I use for qemu dependencies
but it is only in small suggestion that probably
it doesn't help you depends on the distribution.
But it costs nothing to write it to you and maybe it helps you.
It depends on what you use.

udo apt install autoconf libaio-dev libbluetooth-dev libbrlapi-dev libbz2-dev libcap-dev libcap-ng-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev libepoxy-dev libfdt-dev libgbm-dev libgles2-mesa-dev libglib2.0-dev libgtk-3-dev libibverbs-dev liblzo2-dev libncurses5-dev libnuma-dev librbd-dev librdmacm-dev libsasl2-dev libsdl1.2-dev libsdl2-dev libseccomp-dev libsnappy-dev libssh2-1-dev libspice-server-dev libspice-server1 libtool libusb-1.0-0 libusb-1.0-0-dev libvde-dev libvdeplug-dev libvte-dev libxen-dev valgrind xfslibs-dev xutils-dev zlib1g-dev libusbredirhost-dev usbredirserver

sudo apt-get install ninja-build

Note:

Currently the voodoo 3 works very well,
as per the initial post the 1gb memory is recognized regularly and without problems.
I'm finishing up the system setup.
The other day I got on Amazon a 240gb kingston A 400 rev.3 "ssd" certainly not the best, but at 20 euros it seemed like a good buy.
