The only reason to leave that there, would be if you also included a second IDE header that would be master or slave accordingly (for mounting extra CF or HD or CD-ROM).
Since there is no actual way of getting an extra IDE header, the usage of the jumper is really useless. |

Just a quick update, Board has been completed and i have sent it to be made (providing there are no boo-boos). Once i get this done my next project will be to make a board so i dont have to remove my floppy drive from my A600 when i have the ECS card in (Providing someone didn't already design one.

Boards have been accepted for manufacture, I expect boards will be completed ~15th March. I am building 60
Price will be $18 Cdn, and a limit of 4 per person. Also if someone wants to do a group buy so that it would save overseas postage then that is fine, it works out a lot cheaper to ship a few in a small packet than just the one. Shipping will be $8.50 international small packet and $6.50 to Canada (for 1 board). I could probably get a few in a small packet with no increase in cost but i would have to verify that. No pre payments are required, once i get the boards i will show a pic of a completed one. If there is an excess demand then i will put in an order for more but at the moment its capped at 60. |

this is just an extender, its designed to lay flat. It probably would be possible to add another 44 pin male header on the top with a little soldering

This is such a neat idea even though my 1200 spends most of it's time without the top on I'll take two if possible.

i did find a way to secure the extender board to the PCMCIA socket without glue, i will provide a screw that will fit nicely into the already preformed hole on the Amiga's slot so it will be nice and secure

I didn't even realize that this was in a possible construction stage. Count me in for this if you make a production run. I would be very very very much interested.

good news, bad news :)
Hi All,
I received my boards, heres a pic... Now the bad news, i tested it and found it works great, but.... i dont have the 44 pin connectors yet, they promised me they are still in shipping so i cant build any more. the one i tested works good, it looks ugly though as i had to do a little wire jumping as i dont have a connector. If you use jumpers on my jumper blocks it will remove the 15 second wait time if you do not have a CF/HDD attached Last edited by kipper2k; 06 March 2011 at 01:21. |

Looks good.
Looking forward to seeing one fitted. What is the final price going to be? I'd consider taking mine in kit form (self assembly) if it was much cheaper for you to do that? |

Hi Alexh, I can sell this as a kit form, but only to people who have the confidence to solder the CF adapter to the board though as you probably know its not for the novice. Cost as a kit for self assembly would be $13 and built $18. (Cdn) I find soldering the CF adapter a little tricky so if anyone wants to do the assembly themselves i cannot offer any guarantee. I expect to get these built around Mid March. I will talk to Steve closer to the date to see if we can do a bulk send to save on shipping for people. Forgot to mention, as with most of the other CF adapters, the Drive LED on the case will show disk activity (as well as the one on my board). |
