Got my a1200 with 2MBsRAM online with amiTCP - slip - linux

i have about 300kb RAM (out of 2chip+2sRAM) available after installing MUI, MWB, starting tcpip with slip and connecting to a channel with amIRC 3.5.

Since the 1200 is the one machine I have the least RAM on....I guess I'll just set things up the same way on my other miggys ^^

Awesome! Well done! Will this work on 'out of the box' A600 as it has limited ram :s

finaly, but more details please.
try the mlink "monster" with your A500, maybe AmigaNOS too - this is running using wb/kick 3.0 - tested here using ClassicWB96.

since Cammy got a working version from amiga.org once, of mlink, does the new source-code of mlink still exists somewhere?

the amiCTP solution must have minimum 2mb + 2mb ram....amirc alone takes 1mb when launched+ wb +mui + WB....This is exactly why i wanted mlink to work, but all my other miggys have more than 4mb.

I followed this guide: http://wnd.katei.fi/amiga/network.html

Just remember to make the pointopoint pointing the right way
Think I will be attempting amigaNOS on my trusty 500 when i have the time. If it works out, I will eventually encounter the mlink dragon !

My biggest issue right now, is that I cant find any way to register/purchase licenses with vaporware....amirc has a 30 minute demo-timeout :/
Tried torrent search engines, but found nothing.

btw...I think there is a much less demanding irc for WB..benderIRC?blackIRC?

i'll watch this space for any news that will come

Edit: questionmarks behind clients was a call for a search? if so, here you go:
http://aminet.net/package/comm/irc/BlackIRC
(this is 45 minutes demo, but there is a freeware version. i cannot find at the moment)

It's been a while....out sick and then in-laws visiting :/

I noticed that the new/freeware amIRC requires 68020 ?...my 500 only has 010 ^^

And with AmiTCP keyfile....one must simply find one...somewhere...if lucky ?

oh, yes, time flies

i put some key files and a 4.3 installation of amitcp into the zone. i hope something is working for you.
the latest amirc for 68k is on aminet. version 3.5. if this is working reliable for you, we can look for a key.

Hi.

Indeed !

I got all the key files I will ever need Too bad for the people who decided not take my money...

I put the a500 on hold until I got my megachip last month.

Got the 68k version up and running.
Worked great with amitcp slipped with linux. The guide I linked to earlier is a lifesaver!.
Ping was high, so did not get in to alot of channels....still: it Worked.

The very day I decided to try try out higher serial speeds to improve ping....the HDD in my linux PC died.....With scoring an A2000 and A4000 lately, I don't have any IDE HDD's left over :/

I know this is an old thread but..

I've tried myself to compile Multilink on my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian, i get the same error as you, so now i am looking for getting just a precompiled version of multilink for x86 systems, do you by any chance still have yours?
