Btw, my Apollo 1240 is working just fine in my rev 2B Escom Amiga without any timing modifications done to the motherboard

We test everything, including IDE header, expansion connector, external floppy etc etc. They are sill new. Nothing like the smell of a NOS as you open the box, . |

OK here goes... Keep in mind that I removed the ugly ESCOM A1200 sticker and put the good old badge back in... Though it wouldn't stick on good
Don't be fooled by the light, it's white as an egg! I promise, it's so white I almost get blended |

Sounds like you have a nice project going there with my old A1200... did you find out what revision board it used? If it's a 1D4 (like my new one) or 2B then i think you will need to perform the timing fix hack if using a 040 accelerator. I think any other revision will be fine |

But as FOL said this is probably just all different shades of white and not yellowing. Anyway i'm more than happy with my purchase and it makes my old minty white A600 and A1200 look a bit tanned in comparison (Escom models always had "whiter" cases). |

@Kitty
There are no yellow parts to PowerPie5000's A1200 main case. There are differing shades of plastic due to the drive eject button and trapdoors being manufactured from different plastic materials. These are the best quality A1200s that are available now in 2010. We send them out as they come directly from the original sealed boxes/packaging. Sorry, but we can not guarantee that the trapdoors or eject button will be the same shade as the rest of the A1200. You need to be realistic as these were manufactured in 1995. |

Mine looks just perfect. And not to mention the inside, it's like a dream coming true (I had to break the warranty to install my HDD).

All this suspicion If you can't trust a computer company to open up a new Amiga and close it again without destroying it, who can you trust? Hehe.
I think it's amazing there are guys having companies supporting the Amiga in 2010... and they even know what they sell, unlike most companies (f.ex. knowing to solder jumper wires for specific accelerators...) - also, if you'd bought a HDD with it, they would have installed it for you and you wouldn't have to break the seal. Sure, it's more expensive than re-using an old HDD that you already have, but 'being up and running' straight out of the box should be worth _something_ at least. Yellowing... well that's a bummer. But any NOS stuff can yellow even if it's been in a box all these years. |

Mine is also the most perfect A1200 i've come across for years and i too had to break the warranty seal to install my HDD Anyway it's only got to last a year before the warranty runs out and i'm sure mine will last much longer than that

Going back to topic, how long would the boot time be on one of these models with a hard drive installed?
