Update 22/01/14

Now taking suggestions for layout. If anyone has extensions leads they can bring please let me know as I will need to buy some otherwise.

I was thinking a layout like this:

Food & Drink will probably stay in the Kitchen depending on how big the venue is.

So Systems would be setup all around the outside of the gaming area with some storage in the middle for boxes/etc.

Of course we can change things on the day, I'm going to pop down and double check the facilities before the event.

I'm hoping some of us can get in a little early to start setting up

As said before if you are bringing kit please makes sure you bring everything you need to get it up and running, 4/6 gang surge protectors, mice keyboards, screens, etc. Oh and some Games to play on them!

I'll be running the projector setup with tournies like Puzzle Bobble, Bomberman, Street Fighter II, etc throughout the day, I'll probably run my Sega Saturn, Sega MDII/32X setup and Philips CDI for some Mad Dog action! Be great to get some PC Engine Shooter action on the big screen at some point too!

I'll need at least 2 tables for other my setups, each table I guess will take 2 machines, there may be room for more. I'm displaying A4000, A1200, Neo Geo MVS, Micro AmigaOne and Amstrad CPC464/Spectrum +3/128 on the Amstrad Screen, maybe switching to my A500+ in the PM.

I'll have some backup machines such as my C64/SMS/NES/N64. I'll probably bring along some of my handheld's too if we want a little handheld gaming section.

Hi Guys!

Just some up to date news on the event, I should be able to get a Key to the hall so I can get in early and start setting up, I'll let you know the exact time, I'm hoping to get in there about 8am.

We officially have the hall from 9am-5pm however I checked and there's no one booked in for the evening so I was told it wouldn't be a problem if we overrun slightly, such as for packing away.

I'm really hoping for a good turn out and getting quite excited now

Steve.

Hi fitzsteve ,

I probably will only be able to be around from 10:30-2:30 so I am not going to bring anything more than a handful of games on this occasion, but hopefully on a repeat event I can bring one of my amiga-playing buddies down and provide a sizeable 'haul' of games (and maybe even some hardware) to sell!

I was in the area for work today (doing a lighting project up at Lullingstone Country Park) so I drove by the venue just to check out the location!

Looking forward to it

Good news, I'm collecting a key later for the hall so we will have access before 9am. I plan to get there about 8am so if anyone wants to arrive early to help setup you're more then welcome, probably a good idea if your going to exhibit something.

Otherwise feel free to rock up any time from 9am

I've PM'd (or will PM) my Mobile number to those that were considering attending and those who've confirmed already just in case you need to contact me.

I'm really looking forward to meeting those I've not before, thanks to all who are making the effort to come along

Just got back, was a really really fun day out, never attended anything like that before so didn't really know what to expect, but it was great meeting up and putting faces to names and of course playing retro games! just a shame about the bug in the version of SWOS that fitzsteve had that prevented me from scoring a single goal

Great being 20 mins up the road from me! Good to see a bunch of classic machines with their guts all hanging out and hooked up to Phillips monitors running classic Amiga Software.

Not just miggy stuff though. Loved the NEO GEO board and the Atari 800XL.

As expected.....short of busty attractive women for some strange reason

Will attend again if another ones on the cards?

Regards
Fatboy

It was very cool. Everyone seems friendly. I fixed my sx-64, c128d and make progress on a600. I never thought I say that but that expanded Atari 800 was pretty awesome. Also that famous fitzsteve A4000 looks even better in real world. Some cool systems, too many to mention. Success for sure.

Hey Steve, I just finished A600 and your ex ACA630 works like a dream. I'm actually typing this from A600.
Can't wait for next meeting, now I have to practice Sensible Soccer so can play with you next time. .)

You even got a lovely day out to do it and all that, was quite sunny!
I have to try to make it if you make another one.

Was thinking about this.... Might quarterly not make it too often to make people want to commit to going?

I would thinking 6 months and I might help numbers by focusing people on one day?

Depends on where we want to go with it, some Computer Clubs meet Monthly for example.

Planning the date of the next one will be important, especially with all the events coming up such as Replay (May) and Revival (August)

@Akira

Sorry you couldn't make it, hope you can next time

Oh and hope you feel better soon!
