And this morning I ordered 3 NS16550 UARTs to prototype a better serial board for 8 bit systems.
If I get it running, I'll look at the dual, quad, and octal derivatives (and Serial to USB adaption). Another current project? Building an Atari 130XE with higher res graphics (that feature a larger color palette, sprites, and a blitter), stereo sound, at least 1 mb of memory and a CPU that supports a multi-tasking OS. And the scary thing is that most of that hardware is available off the shelf and I've ordered those too.. BTW - I'd like a 1084 monitor too. It can be connected to all my current projects without a VGA adapter. |

I got this monitor (NEC 1970nxp) and in PAL it cut a little of the bottom of the screen. NTSC work fine.

I just picked up a new bluetooth controller for emulation...
It works with Android, iOS, PC, Mac, wii/wiiu... But 8Bitdo are also going to release a bluetooth adapter soon so that it will also work on the original snes console! D-pad and buttons on this are amazing (so much better than the Snes Buffalo usb pads) and the build quality is as good as the original nintendo pads. Also picked up the Capcom CPS2 arcade game Pocket Fighter's artwork and huge promotional poster... |

I recenty bought a Divmmc enjoy, but I'm actually having problems with the sending with "Collissimo" -french post-. My plan is to use it for games of course, what else? Edit: Oh yes, sorry I wasn't telling that while searching now for a 48k I was thinking to get some not working unit and insert there a raspberry 2... but I can't as far as I can rescue it to work as it was designed. See this review about the divmmc I've bought: [ Show youtube player ]... Instant loading, kempstom joystick... and it looks so cool, doesn't it? Last edited by Retrofan; 16 November 2015 at 01:02. |

Yesterday I bought an Ensoniq SQ 80 syntesizer! I always wanted one of these
Actually kinda related to Amiga: - Bob Yannes, creator of the SID music chip, founded Ensoniq. - The ESQ-1 synth by Ensoniq is thought to be the "evolution", or rather, the "this is what we could have done with it if we weren't super constrained", version of the SID chip. - The SQ 80 is kind of like an ESQ-1 mk2 Also in the photo is the Ensoniq Mirage, which is also thought to be using technology which in part is responsible for the Paula audio development on the Amiga. It really sounds very Amiga-ish, but with a fat analog filter. Last edited by Amiga1992; 14 August 2017 at 20:15. |
