The scanning is indeed really buggy. Honestly I don't really remember how I got it working. But as soon as it did, and most games were on the list I just edited the lists manually.

Hey spudje, you might be right, it has to be buggy.
Now I did one per one the lists, using the scanner, and by miracle, all seems to have worked!

Thanks for sharing your setup though, I wouldn't have figured anything out if I had not seen your setup first.

This is pretty slow on my machine, but it's more convenient than running Workbench!

You're welcome, good to see you're coming along. It indeed requires some figuring out. It's not the quickest. Especially the setup, that's why I did that in WinUAE. You've probably come across my workaround to get the CD32load slaves to run

Maybe Tiny Launcher is a bit quicker, but I haven't tried that one yet.

Well this version we have now is going to be a year old in December. Hopefully we get some more work in it soon.

Would be great for it to accept CD32Lod as an option too, many games run much better on it than on WHDLoad, especially because you can configure the CD32 pad to be fully used!

Anyway, I didn't really figure much out, I just tried like 5 times for it to work, and in the end, it did. As a suggestion to Jim Neray, you should look into why I need to re-install everything from scratch if I edit a config file by hand or if I erase one. That shouldn't happen.

Hello.

The project is still alive but as said by spudje the dev comes in waves. Since 2 years xbench is updated for xmas ... And so, ... sorry Apex but i think that the next update will be for xmas'17 ...

I'm definitively working on too many things at the same time.

Good to know you haven 't forgotten or abandoned X-Bench. I think there's a lot of potential here.

My main complaint, after I have managed to get everything working, is that it takes a long time to get from boot to game, on a CD32. Remember we have to reset after every game to load another game, so it really adds up. There's a lot of loading involved.

By the way, I keep getting crashes on X-Bench whenever I change the contents of any drive. Why?

Noticed some file called "p.???" appears in xbench's TEMP folder. "?" is an illegal filename character in AmigaDOS, could this be related to that? Can you explain why this file is being created and if necessary can you change the filename to something not using an illegal character?

If I erase this file, it keeps reappearing, and I have to copy the whole damn disk image back to the CF to restore to a previous point of operation. VERY annoying.

The p.??? file may not be named as it is. You're right. This file is created each time that xb start. It's a temp color palette file that is saving your wb palette to be sure to restore it as it was when leaving xb.

For french speakers, i've never noticed this here i think but the official (french) support thread of xb as moved here : https://www.amigafrance.com/forums/t...hone-officiel/

The official support for english speakers is still this one on eab.

I've a lot of work to do for a correct new release. I know that a lot of things are really really buggy.

So can you fix that? When that file shows up on the folder, I cannot recover XBench from crashing. I'm not 100% that is what it's causing it to crash, but 100% of the times when I find XBench crashes when trying to load and the only solution is to redo everything from scratch again, that file is present.

Also don't understand why changing the contents of one hard drive would make the software enter this crash-loop.

Anyway let me know if there's anything I can do to help you debug this. My games library is huge and redoing it every time XBench decides to kill itself is not fun.

I do not have make hdf.system, whdgames.hdf ,, please

Hello Akira.

The ".???" files are always created. The bug was not here but the bug let you see this files (if all is going right this .??? files are deleted before you leave xbench).

The new scan engine included with this 1.1 release should have a great effect on your past issues. This release is faster but i'm allready working on more faster things for low setup as CD32.
