I have a Prometheus in my AA3000+, I've watched Wranglers videos and I am going to assume the version of the libraries he used are not available yet as I can't get the PPC running.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I am going to assume the pci.library needs to be updated to support the Prometheus as when I run any of the utilities mentioned in Wrangler's videos I get 'can't open pci.library' errors.

OK, this makes a lot more sense. Thank you for your reply.

Is there any chance I can sign up to beta test?

You may have to get the firmware updated to the latest version on the firebird first...

However I fear all PCI/Zorro brackets will be taken up by cards so no room for an internal SCSI2SD that exposes it's SD card on the back of the Amiga. I prefer these kind of setups to easily change flash cards.

Would an external SCSI2SD, via the 25pin SCSI connector be fast enough? Especially for the 3D PPC games like Quake, etc?
Just saw Quake 2 being loaded on Wranglers PPC video for the AA3000 and it did look slow. May want to check out the end of the video. Think he is using a CF to SCSI adapter.

I built and flashed my Firebird, but to be honest I can't remember which firmware I put on it. Either way, I can flash it again if required.

I have my SCSI2SD located where the old mechanical hard drive was. You could run a SD card extender to the outside of the case in a variety of ways.

In addition there is a slot free above the top PCI card for items like drive brackets. My only concern here is that you might be impeding air flow for a PPC solution.

Thanks for the extra info! With SD card extension cables I have bad experience using them on an SCSI2SD (in my X68000). I tried 3, none worked.

I've had issues with some, but I found a brand that worked reliably. I use this in my Dreamcast and BBC Micro. I'll try it with the SCSI2SD this weekend and if it works I'll let you know the part # for reference.

Latest 17.4 beta for AA3000+

1) I cannot for the love of God get the K1/M1 working in 3D with the Voodoo.
2) Warp3D for Prometheus seems to contain some errors. I see differences between these and the Mediator Warp3D drivers. FreeSpace has wrong fonts for example. WipeOut2097 is not working. (Starts off in wrong endian, then black screen).
3) There seem to be Zorro3 time-out issues when the PPC card writes to the VGA memory resulting in bus errors. That is a Prometheus firmware problem which I cannot fix.
4) Mediator compatibility has not been tested in a long time.

For debug output use a serial connection or Sashimi.

Regarding point 3. This is when also the 68k reads/writes from/to pci memory, like the Gfx card interrupt does.

Something in Jen's 3.0.1 Picasso96 doesnt like warp3d - it slows gears fullscreen to 35fps (down from 80 or so) and interferes with the fps counter, and also puts the brakes on BlitzQuake. Reverting back to the older version of p96 i was using makes the problem go away. Not sure if it's the api library, rtg library or emulation library which is the issue.

need to test more, and give p96 3.0.1 a go on the Mediator system.

The versions which work ok and are the ones i was using previously are:

RTG.library 40.4029 - 219,004 (from p96 2.1e)
emulation.library 41.445 - 37,920 (not sure where from, but i think one of Jen's previous versions)
picasso96api.library 2.300 - 24,520 (from p96 2.1e)

The latest versions from jens, p96 3.0.1 are:

RTG.library 42.557 - 227,452
emulation.library 41.455 37,940
picassio96api.library 2.373 - 25,104

havent had chance yet to work out which of the three is the culprit, but suspect rtg.library

Would be nice to have a new compatibility list. Also I would like to get in contact with Michael Boehmer.

First of all... Thank you Hedeon for releasing this beta!

I've been messing with the libraries on my AA3000+ but I can't get the PPC & 3D software to run at the same time. The 68k version of the gears demo runs ok (see attached capture), but as soon as I run an application with 3D & PPC at the same time the screen is instantly corrupted and the system crashes (see attached capture).

It may be a current incompatibility with my 'prototype G4 board', I was also told the card had 128MB, but it is reporting 256MB.

My configuration:

2MB Chip, 16MB Motherboard Memory, Z3 256MB BigRAM, G4 prototype 500Mhz PPC card, Voodoo 3 PCI 16MB

Starting the PPC works without issue and Bogomips runs with the following result:
Calibrating delay loop.. ok - 1012.96 BogoMips
PrmScan runs with the following result:
Prmscan 1.6 by Grzegorz Kraszewski.

Your computer is some Amiga or compatible.
If anyone could offer some advice I would appreciate it. If there are any other utilities I can run to give the developers some insight I will gladly run any test.

I did run a MBR-2 manual scan of the 256MB on the PPC card and it seemed to check out.
