Hmmm, this is the problem with setting "CPU Speed".

If I set anything above 150% then in the videos the CPU goes above 100 and you get jittering / audio issues.

Using those settings actually works best for me on my laptop; no jittering / audio issues is videos.

I just watched the intro at 350% cycle-correct and my 4core CPU was at 11-13%.
Looks like you need a faster emulation machine for high end mid-90s Mac games.

Yeah well, not going to happen; next time I purchase a new laptop will be when Diablo 4 comes out

Anyway, is "Fastest possible and CPU Speed -50%" good for all in terms of actually in-game speed?

We could also try setting say -40, -30, -20?

Yup, definitely too much...

Even "Diablo" requires a "Power Macintosh"; which ShapeShifter and Basilisk II don't emulate.

I've done loads more testing of different settings for Super Wing Commander.

For me "Fastest possible" is perfect and not too fast.

Decided I'm going to leave it how things are; as there are people who run my collection on computers less powerful than mine.

@twitek and philgood1351fr; you'll just have to adjust the config for this game on your powerful / fast computers.

Also twitek; in regards to Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars, this is also set as "Fastest possible". Maybe try adjusting the CPU Speed so that you don't have the issue you reported.

That's where a pre-set up collection like eXoDOS is the king, just like yours for the Amiga or GameBase64 for the C64. There are so many titles from my childhood that have a new life now. I do not touch any of the modern games, I probably wouldn't even if I had the time. They are not for me

It's heartwarming to see how much people are willing to put their spare time in some projects. But I still kind of understand how it can consume you once you get up to speed.

BTW, i need a favour, or some info. I have almost finished compiling my list of additions, currently 47 games, mostly PD. Some were small games from coverdisks and are a single exe file, not even an icon (not that i need icons). I have extracted a few of these myself from the ADFs so i can make a standalone disk.

Have you got a certain go-to gamedisk (or disks) in the collection that you can swap an exe on and update a startup.sequence on and it'll boot and run the game? I think i would need one for a500 and one for a1200 (if other WB files are needed) or a simple disk that would cover both scenarios. I have ADF tools to modify them but a jumping off point would be a good start. Thanks.

@twitek and philgood1351fr; given that Super Wing Commander was too fast on your computers... and you needed to turn off "Fastest possible" and play with the "CPU Speed" slider.

just tested 5 shapeShifter games (2 Star Wars, 3d Pinball, POP2 and Escape Velocity ) and they're all a bit overspeed. same behavious. It's sometimes usefull (more friendly to play).
tested Cave Story and Tyrian : too fast. playing with CPU speed is not conveniant on Cave Story (it's either too slow or too fast, no mid setting...).
All ScummVM run at good speed.
Can't find Flyin' High in the list...did I missed an update ?
Both Alien Breed run good, so as 8 bit killer and Abuse.
Mini Slug is good too (and great remake in my opinion).

Sorry, I know it's a bit of a pain but after what yourself and twitek experienced, I thought I best to provide a list.

Unfortunately I can't really fix, new computers will run things faster if "Fastest possible" is set, and I also need to set my configuration files for the majority of people, which I feel most run on a computer similar to my specs or even lower.

Actually, I can now probably include Black Dawn Rebirth in my collection since it's no longer "purchase only"... but I'd still recommend people support the developer and at least give the minimal £2.00:
