I vaguely remember a discussion with IFW about Skate of the Art having a virus on it. Don't think it was ever released, although there was discussion of releasing it.

yes the shortgrey behave the same, but here the game was not modified until they
check the disks with an AXXX which had the saddam virus. hence all the disks series
have the virus embedded.

The thing is having a disk already modified by the virus is something of a random nature and we simply cannot recover the original data that got overriden.
On the other hand if a game was duped with a virus (or in the case of SotA something that is considered a virus these days, but was used as a tool back then!) but did pass QA it is probably the best we'll ever get out of it - it could have been like that even on the master, not just a problem with somebody playing with it before duplication...
Considering that, SotA might as well be released, and there are a handful other titles as well falling into this category.
The drawback of course is that once it's out, probably nobody will be bothered to find another copy.
Games were quite often duplicated on demand and in short batches, also you had to have a few master disks to feed all the machines with an image when more than one was used.
So it is normally not entirely impossible to find another copy of those titles not affected... Again, we are talking about games duped with a virus, but not modified at all otherwise.
What do you think?

i really thought shortgrey's disks were unmodified when mastered.
But Fxxxxckin' bastard that has checked the disk has rubbished them all GRRRR !!!!

All original copies out there HAVE the virus on disks. My theory about the disk verified on a virused machine with write enabled on is probably what happened.

Maybe we should ask to the people that programmed the game if they know about this
