If it's any consolation, tell yourself that all the files have been analyzed and renamed by hand, one by one

Hi everyone, a new TOSEC publication has just been released!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all contributors, past and present, who have helped enrich the Amiga section year after year.
Thanks !

Hello again folks and welcome to our bumper summer TOSEC release!
In the 6 months since our last release we've been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century, with our brand new Discord server helping bring more of the community together and leading to some great new submissions and fixes. This release sees substantial updates to every one of the branches and may be one of our biggest ever!
The new datpack can be found in our Downloads section. As always, make sure to peruse the readme.txt (or click 'READ MORE...') and feel free to join us on Discord or at the forum with any related discussion.

Starting off in the main branch, we've got the usual flood of fixes and updates to the Commodore C64 and Amiga systems from stalwarts duncantwain and Crashdisk. It's a testament to the lasting appeal of these systems that they still have incredibly active communities after all these years, and we're incredibly grateful for the endless work that these two put in to keeping on top of the flood. mictlantecuhtle, meanwhile, has added another few thousand files to the Apple II DATs as well as reviewing the overall structure and streamlining the way we deal with various disk image formats. As well as the usual swathe of small updates to a range of obscure systems, this release also sees the addition of a substantial number of entries added for Japanese platforms like the PC-88, PC-98 and Sharp X68000. While mictlantecuhtle has done the renaming here, the real credit belongs to krugman for their tireless work in dumping and preserving these releases.

Rounding things off in this area, our very own master (mistress?) of the ZX Spectrum, Lady Eklipse, is back with another comprehensive update to the system. As usual there are far too many changes and additions to list sensibly here, so you'll just have to download the DAT pack to see all the fantastic work that she has put in for this release. We've also had some great submissions from users new and old - thanks to Newpain and bikerspade in particular for their updates and additions to systems in the Analogue and VTech V.Smile ranges, and a quick shoutout to smesgr from the Discord for their Atari 2600 submissions.

Moving on to the other branches, after the unexpected update to the TOSEC-ISO branch in January, the TOSEC-PIX team with the help of generous contributors from the TOSEC Discord channel have released another huge update to the branch. All new submissions dumped with DiscImageCreator or Redumper have been added to the existing TOSEC-ISO database that was resurrected from the ashes of the now defunct TOSEC-ISO website.

If the last TOSEC-PIX release shocked you then there's time for great alarm as the TOSEC-PIX team have followed on with their second release (and probably their largest release ever) in one year!! Included in this release are hundreds of new scans and many contributions.

Lastly a big thank you to everyone that have joined the TOSEC Discord server and to all the people that have reached out and provided submissions for this and upcoming TOSEC releases.

With your help and support the project will continue to grow!

Be sure to join our Discord channel if you haven’t already.

Enjoy this release and see you all in a few months!
************************************************************************

All folders and contents should be self-explanatory. All necessary
CUEs are also included. There are also some scripts included to assist
in creating TOSEC folders, and some 'move' scripts for those of you
using RomVault. As usual, be careful with long pathnames in some OSes.
Best advice is to use your folders as close as possible to the root of
the drive.

For all the latest work-in-progress news, as well as expanded details
on all upcoming changes and additions, keep up to date by visiting us
at: www.tosecdev.org

Enjoy!

So how many have you guys found, how's everyone doing with the hunt?
I think i'm doing pretty well on the Amiga front. Gone from 1166 earlier this evening down to just 463 now. Edit// Now down to 249

And got these below now...
My Amstrad CPC collection is COMPLETE
- Shadow Hunter (2022-01-18)(Mananuk).dsk
- Shadow Hunter (2022-01-18)(Mananuk).sna

My Sega Megadrive collection is COMPLETE
- Gun Slugs (2022-10-26)(SpacePantsGames)(beta)[Day 33 - Beta 5].bin
- Gun Slugs (2022-10-27)(SpacePantsGames)(beta)[Day 34 - Beta 6].bin

My ZX Spectrum collection has just gone from 4130 a few hours ago to just 35 34 left now. A hefty leap towards completion. Nice.

C128 has only 13 to go IS NOW COMPLETE

But the laughable one is C64. Holy hell that had a huge update! Still got 27116 25910 to go on this one. But i am downloading a 460mb update file from mega.nz as i type which should bring this one down quite a bit. I think to under 1000.

So 'how you doin'? (as Joey would say)

Still downloading a demos pack for C64 which should bring it down to around 36.

Amiga - 249
C64 - 36
ZX Spectrum - 32

Getting there.

That would be cool. I'll generate a report in a bit. I've chipped off a couple more, so down to 30 now.

Hey, i'd be happy to. I imagine someone has these packs ready to go at some point though, its usually the case that these packs are uploaded not long after a TOSEC release. I have no idea how to do an update pack with only the additional roms too but i've no problem uploading all my completed Tosec sets.

If anyones interested, i found the PET Tosec set severely lacking, so i've been putting a custom collection together. When all is done, it should be around 2000 files. It will include some screenshots, PDFs and images / maps (5% or so) and it is still WIP, but happy to share when done.

My thanks to freebase, we are both now down to 1 final C64 file missing.
"Virtual Commodore Logo V0.2 (2013-04-01)(Tommes).reu" (online as virtualcl02.reu)
All links found so far are dead. Even wayback machine hasn't helped yet. And my german isn't good...

I think we are both stuck at 249 for Amiga.
35,000 or so missing, down to 250. Not a bad day!
