Hmmm, I don't have any problems with the games you've mentioned (but I don't change the floppy speed)...
With Bart vs. Space Mutants and First Samurai I remember I had to change settings from my "OCS/ECS standard template" configuration. I can upload my config's for these games to The Zone! if you like so that you can take a look? Not sure if it's correct or not , but my "OCS/ECS standard template" configuration works for 95% of games. This is what properties it has: -------------------------------------------------- CPU 68000 Chipset Full ECS Sprites and Sprites vs. Playfield Sound - Enabled, 100% accurate Kickstart Kickstart v1.3 (A500,A1000,A2000) rev34.5 (256k) RAM Chip - 2MB Slow - 1MB -------------------------------------------------- If I have problem with some games using this config, then I firstly try changing; Chipset: OCS, RAM Chip: 512k, RAM Slow: 512k. If that doesn't work then I'll try a different Kickstart like Kickstart v3.1 (A500,A600,A2000) rev40.63 (512k)... I know there are quickstart configs and I do use them when everything else fails... Just a suggestion, but maybe it would be a good idea if there was a sticky thread called "Best Configuration" where people (and especially gurus) could work out / post / agree the best settings for OCS/ECS, AGA, CD32 configs. Just seems like we all use different standard templates, would be nice if we were all on the same page, then bugs could be more easily identified... Sincere appologies Toni if this is what quickstart configs already are. What does everybody think? (be honest, it may just be a waste of time as we already have quickstart configs) Quote:

in which version you play it. WHDLoad or DOS HD installed, or the pure disc image? I'Ve checked the WHDLoad install and the disc images minutes ago and it works fine.

All versions of the .adf and the even the .ipf seem to crash about 80% of the time except for "Midnight Resistance (1990)(Ocean)[cr HZ - TSL][t HZ]"... Thank you to CHook/OTT for pointing me to this version.
If you can get one of them to load then they suffer from this problem of high CPU/slow downs/echoing sound. |

About to leave the house, gotta meet a friend.
I've tried my "OCS/ECS standard template" configuration above, A500 quickstart configuration, loads of various Chipset, RAM and Kickstart combos... See you guys in about 2 hours, running out the door now. |

CPU - 68020 Emulation Speed - Fastest Possible, Maintain Timing Chipset - AGA Misc Chipset Options - Fast Copper Collision Level - Full Sound Emulation - Emulated Ram - 2 Meg Chip Codetapper mentioned in the other thread this was brought up in he remembered Morph AGA had an unusual way of detecting ECS/AGA and if the settings weren't right it would quit so i must have missed something somewhere [scratches chin] |

The Fast Copper Option is deleted since the 1.1 Version. But i'm afraid that will not solve your problem, mate. The Amiga 1200 is a 68EC020 not a 68020, have you tried this?

First Samurai is a tempremental bugger Just tried it on my ECS config and it booted fine - Shut it down and tried again - Corrupt colours and graphic errors then the Guru As you say, On the older stuff OCS or 512k Chip usually gets it to work |

Ooops, in my haste to leave the house I put some wrong info. Just got to my friend's house and jumped on the net to rectify the post...
Thanks to Toni , Midnight Resistance doesn't crash anymore. It was fixed in v1.1.1 I believe... The only remaining problem is the sound / slowdown / High CPU which can be fixed with sound set to "Enabled". Gotta go will login again in about 2 hours and check the responses. Quote:

As a side note, a while ago I created a thread with the intention of working out the "best" AGA settings that worked with the majority of AGA games http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=19904
This was cool as people gave their opinions / recommendations, then we tweaked it accordingly + tested to get the "best" settings. This helped me a lot (and hopefully other people) with configuring / testing AGA games. Note that since then I've changed my CPU Type to 68020 though... Would be cool if we did the same with OCS / ECS? Last edited by DamienD; 04 November 2005 at 12:17. |

I agree with that DamienD user based experience threads can often produce by experimentation common table results that MAY be missed in common testing stages of each upgrade of a program.
After all information is only as accurate as the last batch tests |
