i'll just have to go with an 8372A Agnus... most ECS games never expected more than 1Mb chip ram anyway... i hope...

OK, thanks all, does anyone have an 8372A Agnus spare, to trade for an 8375?

Cheers

Which type of 8375 is it?

If it is a 318069-10 then I think I could work something out for you.

@ Alexh

The one I have is marked 390544-01, 8375 and 3691 20. I'm not sure what difference the code makes.

8375 is the silicon chip number
390544 is the pinout variation
-01 is the version (-01 = PAL, -02 = NTSC)
3691 is the date code, 36 week of 1991
20 is I think the batch number

All 8375 Agnus' are not pin compatible. Which is which, and how they differ is unknown. I tried to find out several years ago.

I bought a DKB MegAChip 2Mbyte Chip-RAM expansion of ebay only to find out that it was NTSC. It had an 8375 chip on it. I had to do research to find out how to "convert" it to PAL.

I wish I knew what the differences were between:

8375 390544-01
8375 318069-10

They are both 2Mbyte and both PAL.

The reason I dont know what the differences are is because there are non.

At least not in pinout or basic operation.

The 8375 318069 would appear to be a later revision (perhaps just a cost cut or maybe a bug fix) of the earlier one.

The two chips work equally as well in an A500+ so I am told.
