Anyone tried the CDTV version of DOTC? Apparently that one has Greek fire and disease. Not sure if it doesn't feature the other missing bits already.

I have tried the CDTV version. It is pretty much a "shovel-port" of the original floppy version to CD with a few minor changes.
Most of the changes: 1). CD Sound track replaces regular Amiga music (The CD Sound Track is poorly done in my opinion, and this version has less music than the original DOTC) 3). Most text boxes removed and replaced with audio voice over 4). Minor graphic enhancements - screens now fade in and out, etc 5). A few extra sound effects added in spots 6). On-Line Manual included 7). CDTV added to the title screen so the title reads - "Defender of the Crown CDTV" 8). Strength bars are shown in the raiding sequence Quote:

Guess the screenshots on HOL are wrong then. Will have a look once some other stuff is sorted.
Edit : Okay, they are only 'deco' in the Amiga version. Last edited by TCD; 13 August 2010 at 21:15. |

The raiding problem seems to be the same here. You cannot do any action in the second where the knight run.
BTW. I never managed to win a tournament (the go on horseback with lance thing). How does it work? I tried to hit the opponent with the lance on different places without success. |

DOTC CDTV and DOTCII are 2 versions. DOTCII has enhancements. Looking over the ST version, it's a strange beast compared to all the other versions as the game rules have been changed. You can't do an apple to apple comparison.
