I'd bend that flap on the metal shielding up to fit flat, they have been known to scratch tracks on the cards...also it can help with the fit...... it looks to me as thats stopping your blizz going all the way in.

There you go!

It's awesome! That was totally worth it. All whdload games are loading much faster now. Tested it with Lionheart, and it's running fine (didn't work with only 2MB).

Yes, I bought it on ebay, it cost me roughly 130 EUR. It doesn't have much RAM, so I guess I'll get 64MB of EDO Ram next.

Hmm, after exiting a whdload game and closing the folder (window), my workbench sometimes freezes now (soft resetting still works). Happened 3 times since I installed the accelerator. However, It doesn't freeze while a game is loaded; I've had one run for over an hour. Maybe some issue with the RAM? Is there a diagnostic tool for accelerators/RAM?

Some of our 1230 no longer have a capable power cell, most likely this will also happen to you in the future. When it does, you may consider to add a coin battery holder at the back of your Blizzard.

Could the battery have something to do with the workbench-freezes? Doesn't sound likely...

However, when I try to run that memtest program (the one for 68020 or higher), it looks like the Amiga resets, and then I get a guru!

Hardly a motherboard issue?.I remember amiga format did a guide before about buying an A1200 and some of the compatibility issues it had depending on motherboard revisions.Try jumper settings on board? *i had an amuseing incident earlier that whd woundnt run properly until i adjusted amount of ram by setting it on jumpers

Which jumpers would that be? I've got an original 1200 by Commodore, kickstart 3.0. I don't know which motherboard revision; I'll have to open it up again.

There are only two jumpers, usually neither has a jumper as standard. One is for disabling the MapROM function (open = MapROM is enabled), the other sets RAM access speed (open = 70ns, closed = 60ns). The card is otherwise entirely automatic.

I just ran memtest from CLI, and got LOADS of errors; then it said "defective memory". So it's defective? Or maybe the jumpers are set in the wrong way?
EDIT: I'm going to pull out the ram and clean the contacts, maybe that'll help.

@meega: Which setting should I use? MapROM is good to have, I guess, so maybe it's the wrong speed?

set your maprom to 60ns even for 70ns simms

remove the simm and give it clean, might be just dirty contacts
