I think top of my remake list non-amiga wise has to be Rise of the Triad, followed closely by Diablo, another Monkey Island would aslo be excellent

I don`t think rott was 3dfx..
Sure.. carmageddon was awesome on 3dfx.. I`m sure my son was playing it even back then Me personnally, I`m looking forward to playing carmagedon, c&c and ecstatica - remember that? My son is desparate to play descent, turok, starwars (the fps one) and doom with all the add-ons.. (alien doom etc..) [edit] actually, the waiting was regarding the 16bit SB, the 3dfx was kind of a bonus when I went on ebay |

I wish i'd known u wanted a 3dfx i have a few of those kicking about and voodoo 2's too!
Ecstatica rings a bell but i can't quite remeber what it was, I gotta agree with C&c tho and Turok that was the first 3dfx game that really shined and the reason i spent 99 quid on a guilimont 3dfx card lol The Starwars FPS that was the first game i refused to SWAP on floppy as it was like 21 disks and you'd get to disk 19 and it would be corrupt grrrrr Also Lost Eden (not 3d) and Little Big adventure were also great games at the time! |

Does that come with the sub station???? i remeber 5500 was a long card so needed a big case and had it's own seperate power supply i had a voodoo 3500 i think it was and it had this massive long thick cable with a globe half on the end of it no wonder they went bust
I still have the SLI cable kicking around too and those are quite rare i never thought SLI would make a comeback like it is now just about to get myself a couple of Geforce 6600's not power cards i know but i ain't got power money |

The 5500 was an integrated sli on the AGP slot. In fact there was a legendary 6000 somewhere?
Hehehe.. I have Geforce 7800 GFX SLI at the moment.. kind of overkill or what?! I thought I`d get something future proof, but I may as well put one of em in my son's pc |

is that like 6 to 700 quids worth of graphics cards??? if it is you have more money than sense lol i have given up following the numbers on the nvidia cards cause they cost stupid money the last i bought was 5900xt at 150 quid and it's been crap i won't play this game anymore!
Hence why i am so into retro stuff at the mo it's cheaper (even on Ebay) and fuck it it's more fun Just waiting for a snes copier (anyone any ideas ) and a few other bits and i am setup i've got 2 A1200's a C64c an Xbox and 2 pc's toying with getting a spectrum / atari ST and an Amstrad then i am complete for Retro heaven! |

It is bloody annoying when games for the PC these days rely heavily on the latest graphic/accelerator cards, etc. just to get full benefit... putting a hole in ya wallet at the same time! At least you know where you stood with the limitations of retro home computers without the hassle of having to upgrade.
And who can complain when you can play all those old classics on a wide range of emulators all for free??! Sarek2k..... Think I'd would have to book a months holiday to visit your retro games den! Mick_AKA - another Monkey Island?? Corrrrr.... that'd be brill! Another request even though I've mentioned before... Bobby Bearing!! I want an update now!!! Cant..keep..off..speccy..version.. |

I still have my Voodoo 5 5500, remember spending 220 pounds on it
Still one of the best cards ive ever owned though, some of the 3rd party driver out for it now are excellent, I've run Half-Life 2 at an acceptable FPS on it!!! As far as I know no Voodoo 6 cards which of course was a Quad SMP card *drools* made it to market. Incidentally my new Radeon EAX1800XT cost 300 quid |

Voodoo 6000:
And a prototype Voodoo 7000??!! "The last thing we saw at the 3dfx booth was the massive Voodoo 5 6000. The 6000 is 3dfx's killer high-end card with quad VSA-100 processors. Each VSA-100 gets its own 32MB bank of RAM, for a total of 128MB of memory on the card. This setup should easily surpass even NVIDIA's GeForce 2 in fill rate; quite likely, it will be the fastest consumer 3D card on the market when it ships." I actually found that there were 3 different revision V6000 boards and that revision A3 was ready for mass production as 3DFX went bye bye Last edited by Mick_AKA; 20 April 2006 at 02:01. |
