Yes Cymru,

I measured time to access with these two differents stacks, time is given by the web browser.
It was done with the same OS but on two different CF (same brand, but one is a copy of the other one , one have Miami the other one Roadshow), so i will test all on the same CF.
Just for curiosity.

Roadshow has definitely better throughput rate than both miamidx and genesis, but to achieve that it may use more resources thus resulting in slower loading times as it's "fighting" with the program it feeds with data for cpu time.

Hell,
I compiled most dependency libs with libnix.
Libcurl is left but I can't compile it and the one amiga.sf doesn't work.
Maybe somebody here can do it?
I also asked NovaCoder for sdl_aga for 060 and he did.

Only, will this give noticable speedup, I can't tell.

seems miami is still better than roadshow. this is the demo of roadshow i assume?

i would try to keep to one tradeoff version running best on all cpus. for particular asm improvements you could consult matthey.

If starting from clean (ie no previous versions) what do we need to install? I had problems getting the earlier version to work (I seemed to then break it after I did finally get it to work so removed it and thought I would wait for this).

Unfortunately, ixemul.library v63 has not been compiled as a non-FPU version yet. Removed my suggestion again.

There is no non-FPU edition of the new ixemul version, so it can't be done. The latest non-FPU version is v48 from Aminet but Netsurf won't work with that one.

Hi All

I'm a bit of a 'noob' at this as my kids would say so please bear with me. Can someone please provide a link to 'The Zone' so I can download the latest NetSurf AGA beta.

Also can anyone advise if this version is more stable than the version currently in Amikit? The reason I am looking to download the latest AGA version is although Netsurf seems to be the only browser in AMikit that can display websites properly (like Google) it still seems unstable. For example it doesn't seem to like modarchive.org and won't let me click on the the pulldown menus (under Music) to access the latest mods uploaded.

I am trying to find a reliable site where I can find regular amiga mod updates for download and play in EaglePlayer under Amikit and ideally do all of this within the AMikit environment wihtout resprting to Windoze so would be grateful if anyone can advise me on that too.

Sorry for the flurry of questions and thanks in advance for any help offered.

I came across a raspberry pi project that removed add's on webPages . Lan in and wifi out but without the add's. Reading the coders net browse topic I realized that a lot of the cpu power go's to rendering images, scaling them down, reducing the color pallet etc.

Why not let the PI do this for us? It doesn't have to be tailored for every page it just scans the page, resizes al the big jpg's reduces color to a fixed pallet and sends the information on its way. isn't this the only way? because the amiga will never be strong enough to do it all by its self.

Maybe for the lucking 060 people but for the most of us it's just a 030.

Arti needs to link without ixemul.lib, this will make it faster and more stable

That's not new or Pi specific.
It's not that difficult to go thru a Proxy, and have your proxy do that.
Either remove content (like ads) or tweak pictures.. (resize, rotate, flip, etc)

I saw a great prank where someone did that and basically flipped all webpages upside down.

It's not too complicated in theory.
In practice tho, the webpages nowadays are much more complicated and frequently many parts of the webpage rely on other parts of the webpage...
In order to do it properly, your filter would basically have to re-render the entire page; replacing certain functions with others and removing other functions all together.

That being said, if you only want part of that, a proxy that removes ads isn't too complicated; privoxy does some of that out of the box.

And it probably wouldn't be too difficult to filter all images thru ImageMagick to drop the depth and possibly scale them down.
(The problem with scaling them down is that you really can't say "make all images 320x240", you have to find the current resolution, then decide what you want to scale it to. Whereas you could say make all pics 8bit...)

Then the browser just has to support any proxy. You don't need to build that special into your Amiga browser.

The part where they use squid to flip things upside down. You could do the same thing using convert to drop the depth..
Actually, I think in the line where they specify the flip, you could use "-depth 8" instead of "-flip" to convert everything to 8-bit.

No you can't really say make them 320x240 but can't you say make them 20% of the original? I know we cannot render the hole web page but we can help al little.
Don't really know how to setup this script on a windows machine, my linux is a bit rusty.
Well lets first hear from the developers if it's use full or not. I cannot run I browse no FPU on my aca@56
