Yeah it's really crazy. You can get a 1TB harddisk for about 100-120 € (80-95 £) excluding VAT. It's so damn cheap today. I wish I had the money to buy me 10-15 of these

I have a 1TB NAS though that is quite nice. But that was a lot more expensive when I bought it

I remember buying a 20meg A590 back in 89/90 for something like £400. Seemed like a bargain at the time.

A year later I bought a 180 meg SCSI drive for the knock down price of £450. Wow that was a lot of space and much quicker than the grating old A590.

The same thing will happen with SSD prices, which is great because they make OSes feel 2x faster and boot 3x faster. And are quieter and don't get as hot. Just needs a HDD manufacturer to embrace them, they are a bit reluctant. I hope the breakthrough comes, even though SSD manufs have much smaller revenues than the titans.
