Great stuff Adrian!! Amiga users and our Amiga games database, The Hall of Light (hope you don't mind), will be greatly enriched by never-seen-before screenshots like this.

I've updated the HOL entries for Tin Toy Adventure, Tommy Gun and Castle Kingdoms with new screenshots.
In the Castle Kingdom credits, numbers 4, 5 and 6 in the Value 'n' Fun series are mentioned: Monster Football, Kartoon Racers and Tin Toy 2. |

Hi there,
Great... it's good to see that you guys archive older games like this and many others for all to see so that it's nto all lost in time and wasted... specially the ones that never made to the shelves. Regards, Monster Football... I never got to finish it (originally it was on PC) and I've tried to finish the project about 3 times but never got further than that - oh well... to be honest I think it's got a lot to do with the fact that I'm not really into football heh It did look sorta good tho graphics wise back then. Kartoon Racers... never got past pencil stage but was born from the fact that I lost out on deal with Renegade I recall on teh PC version of Battle Buggy Racers - oh well another bit the dust Tin Toy 2... was going to be the usual follow up to Tin Toy AGA but sales were so poor towards the end of my days with Castle Kingdoms (I quite liked that game in a spectrum sort of way) that it never happened either. Tin Toy did very well though even though the Amiga was suffering bad by 1996 and we published it ourselves (albeit in a bit of a tin pot toy town sort of way - but hey that was half the fun !). If I can find anything else worthy of mention graphically etc. i'll see what I can release (there is a lot of stuff from 14 years sitting on hard drives here somewhere ?). How much did it cost to produce an Amiga game back then?

That's a good one as for a game that never made it just time really and about £1000 a month to live on. But for games like Doodlebug (Core) about £15K + royalties. So to conclude... £1K to £2K for a good enough Amiga demo to send to a publisher and about £7K to develop a full game from mypoint of view. Doodlebug took about 6months to create and about 1month to tidy and fix for Core. It was never abou the money tho, I just loved writing games and cash&royalties came in handy lets say Big investment was and still is time (which always equates of course to money!)... later I went on to find out from a 'nameless' person that Darkmere made a fair bit more than me back then in development fees but hey who cares I got stitched but I was very green back then and Core gave me the much needed break I needed afte so many failures to get published - it WAS hard that's for sure... amazing what lengths you can go to when you need money to live and actually eat (and drink beer) |

Here is some more old junk from the past, mainly titles as I lost most of the rest of these bits of games from the early days because of the big HD crash in '93...

One of the earliest things I have regards Amiga from about '86-'87
The Flipover & Orbit screens above tho were from the Images Design/Plessey IFES project (In Flight Entertainment System) which were hybrid's of linked Amiga 1000's with everything running in C ! - mad eh |
