@grelbfarlk - regarding your anabolic-like results of your Ragnarok - what Voodoo card do you use in that setup?

Sonnet 7200 PCI programming
Hi all
So my Apocalypse has arrived but before I dive straight in I have a few questions. 1. So from what I have been told the CPU is located under the heatsink at the end of the board But there is IC in the middle of the board near the ramix connectors (That’s what I’m calling them), does it require a heatsink or does it not get hot? 2. Do I have to do anything to it first apart from attach it to the ramix carrier? 3. Do I have to add any additional software or will my sonnet setup be ready to go? Thanks for your time guys. |

You need to bridge pins 11 and 12 on J2. Needs a small jumper (2mm I think)

Interesting.
Just thinking - 186MB --- isnt it somehow 128MB of RAM + 64MB of flash? Make RAMdisk and try to fill it. |

Sure, the library mutated to support flash memory
It is more likely that: 1) it is a 256 mb card together with a 256mb Radeon. 2) a wrong ENV setting. 3) a 256 mb card with some more resource hogging pci cards. |

Observe the LEDs on the PPC board when it turns on. If the jumper is making good contact only one should light up, the orange one I think. Then when the library starts the green one should light up briefly (or I have that backward).
If the jumper is not making contact both LEDs should light up when the system turns on. This means it is already booting up into the debugger and you'll have lots of problems. With the jumper on, it should be holding the processor in reset until Hedeon infuses the board with his divine spark during initppc. Only mentioning the jumper because it looks like you used a tall one and it's on upside-down. Also this should not be a requirement but you could try setting envarc:sonnet/Harrier256MB=0 Not a requirement and this takes a cold shut down to take effect, a reboot will not set this properly. Also make sure the Mediator is set for 512MB window size, which it looks like it is already by your screenshots. And please get a dump of showconfig and pciinfo. Thanks grelbfarlk,
I’ll give it ago later Just to add I cannot find this envarc: Sonnet/ so maybe I’ve not installed it correctly. Will look into doing a fresh install of the OS and starting again. Also I will change my soundcard it seems to be causing me issues too. My mediator is setup as Master = Closed Winsize = Closed swap config = Closed |

You have to make your own envarc folder
