It says, you can quit it with a Hotkey, a CTRL Signal, with Exchange or closing it with its closing gatget.
You can check the arguments with Copper-Demon ? There is no Quit option via Cli. Of what do i miss here ? Yeah, it mentions the Break Command. (i think i never used that in my 35 years with AMIGA) How ? hmmmm.... Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 19 January 2024 at 00:05. Reason: typo |

If you run Copper-Demon in the Startup-Sequence (or the like) Copper-Demon most likely will always be Process 2, but it would be a good idea to Break by the Name?! |

Yeah, its good to learn something new. Maybe i never wanted to "break" something on the Amiga... ... or had ever the need to use it...; until now I have tried it with the name, but that did not work (double checked with sys infos task list) Besides, the Number 2 is shorter than a Word; so that saves a few bytes in the script file I use it just for one game .. and after exiting the game, Copper-Demon is back with its beautiful Copper Background Thanks 3 ! |

Questions I am to embarrassed to ask:
1) We have Emu68K which is a fine piece of software!! How difficult is to create a EmuPPC and run OS4 on Pi? 2) Hardware requirements for OS4 (or other derivatives ),point to obsolete and expensive hardware!! How difficult is to port them to Pi4/Pi5. If the above questions, don't make sense to anyone, please disregard them !!! I had too many glasses of wine!!!!! |

This has bugged me for a long time: what for is a real-time clock actually useful in an Amiga classic computer?
I can think of showing the right date and time on Workbench and keep consistent timestamps of modified user files (documents or other config files). I feel there's more behind this, though, but for an offline-first platform like the Amiga I cannot imagine for what else could that be useful. Thanks! |

That's pretty much the function of the RTC. On the A3000 it can also store setting for the SCSI controller for example, but keeping track of the time independent of any external source (e.g. internet time server) is the main function of the real-time clock. And that's very useful IMHO - having accurate file modification dates can be quite useful when you use the Amiga for creating anything.

Having the right times set for files is useful also when you are using makefiles and a make type program for compiling larger programming projects and only want to recompile those source files that actually changed since the last exectuable was generated.

Speaking of this I have a question that fits this thread: which Amiga models came with a pre-installed RTC? The A3000 and the A500+, right? Any more?

Yep, the A3000 and A500+, and the A2000 (and its variants, e.g. A1500) and A4000.
