I almost have automated Amiga OS 3.1.4.1 update installation implemented as part installing Amiga OS 3.1.4.
Since I do some switching between Kickstart 3.1.4 and 3.1 I soon discovered that Amiga OS 3.1.4.1 update configured files for the Kickstart rom being used. Installing with Kickstart 3.1 means it won’t boot with Kickstart 3.1.4 afterwards and vice-versa. So I created a small script that enables anyone to seamlessly switch between Kickstart 3.1.4 and 3.1. This is run as part of startup sequence and patches files for the Kickstart rom being used. |

Automatic installation of Amiga OS 3.1.4.1 is now fully added. I have updated ClassicWB packages 68K, ADV, ADVSP, FULL and OS39 to install my Amiga OS 3.1.4.1 patch to Startup Sequence, so anyone can easily use different Kickstart roms.
I only need to update the remaining ClassicWB packages with Amiga OS 3.1.4 support before HstWB Installer v1.4.0 can be released |

Excellent work here. Just wanted to thank you for making this - I’m actually getting more mileage out of my 3.1.4 license with HstWB Installer than I would have otherwise

I have got all ClassicWB's updated with Amiga OS 3.1.4 support. ClassicWB GAAE has also been converted to a HstWB Installer package and got Amiga OS 3.1 and Amiga OS 3.1.4 support added.
ClassicWB 68K, ADV, ADVSP, FULL, GAAE, LITE, OS39 and P96 packages with Amiga OS 3.1.4 support will be part of HstWB Installer v1.4.0, which will be released within the next week. It's only ClassicWB UAE that I haven't touched since it's a mix of ADVSP and P96. I still need to make a few tweaks and tests before it's ready. Last edited by cyberhead97; 26 July 2019 at 00:51. Ok recently tried WB 3.1.4 again but during install the RAM disk keeps getting full mid installation which then fails is there a way round it? I added more Ram to the config file but does not seem to solve it.

I just used the standard installer, with the recommended packages IE BestWB and the Games/Demo packages and Picasso96. Ran the installer got to the second IGame Image install and as it was doing it just ran out of RAM drive.

Apologies for hijacking the thread slightly : I'm new to WHDLoad and have been recommended this installer as the best way to make a clean CF card image from scratch.
I've read through the first pages but not all 17 of them, so again sorry if these are FAQs but here goes : - Is this still Powershell / Windows only ? I've seen macOS/Linux support mentioned, is that still limited to using prebuilt images but not building them ? What am I missing out on by using the images from the site ? If required I could run Win10+WinUAE inside Virtualbox, but I'd much rather use macOS+FS-UAE if it is sufficient. - Does this download + install WHDLoad games+demos fullsets from the image itself (AmigaOS side) or from the Powershell build scripts ? What sources are used, can I pre-download separately from another machine then provide the archives to the installer ? Feel free to point me to a sticky thread and/or FAQ I may have missed (couldn't find one). Thanks |

I would only suggest maybe adding this link to the first post, so that newbies like me don't ask this kind of question again |

I’m almost ready to release HstWB Installer v1.4.0.
Testing that it all works properly has taken much longer than expected. But the good news is that I have updated all packages with Amiga OS 3.1.4 support. Even BetterWB has Amiga OS 3.1.4 support, which might not make any sense as gulliver has created BestWB for that purpose. But my own Workbench enhancement HstWB is based on it and I didn't want to re-base it on BestWB at this point... maybe later in an other future update. All packages have been tested a lot in various combinations of Amiga OS 3.1.4 and 3.1, which has resulted in a few small fixes here and there. HstWB Mini package https://github.com/henrikstengaard/h...ster/README.md has also been updated a lot, so it’s now in a complete and usable state. It’s really minimalistic setup for stock Amigas with only chip ram with my own HST Launcher, which allows ~1000+ whdload games to run on an Amiga 500+/600 with only 1MB chip ram. This is of course without preload, so screen will flicker when whdload is loading game data. This can also only be achieved by using FFS for lowest chip ram usage. PFS3 easily consumes up to 300KB chip ram when to fast ram is installed. So I’m very close to releasing now... really |

I noticed the very nice dock included in the latest BestWB v1.2 called WBDock, which would be much better than the AmiDock I added to ClassocWB OS39. So I send the creator Thomas Rapp a mail asking for his permission to use and he was very kind to let me do so. The result is great and looks very close to Amiga OS 3.9 with ClassicWB OS39 just with Amiga OS 3.1.4 instead.
I have now completed all testing and tweaks I have stumped upon, so I have begun making new self installer for all the images currently available. This means I'm aiming for a release of HstWB Installer v1.4.0 tomorrow evening. |

Yup, thomas is a great guy... humble and always very helpful
Extremely knowledgeable, and has written some very useful Amiga tools Personally, I do make use of "oldlikenew.lha" every now and then when required. thomas's webpage is here: http://thomas-rapp.homepage.t-online.de/ |
