My first game was Shadow of the Beast. It was the demo game that the guy I bought my system from used to close the deal.

First game I played on an Amiga was Marble Madness or Battle Chess (I think we played both that evening) back in 1986. I remember being hugely impressed by the colour graphics and amusing "Say" program that came with WB 1.2, along with the ability to change your mouse pointer to some weird shapes. Then when my best friend received an A500 for Christmas in 1991 (as an upgrade for his C64) I got into such classics as Lemmings, James Pond, Stunt Car Racer and Street Rod 2 (I spent many hours on that one)! It Came from the Desert gave me nightmares at the time, too!
Later my games of choice were/are Cannon Fodder, Desert Strike (still love that one), Gods, Rick Dangerous 2, PP Hammer (yes it's crap but it's a good de-stresser and I like the music ), North & South, Alien Breed: Tower Assault ... probably many more that I've forgotten! |

Indeed, that's a bit harsh... perhaps he meant Rick Dangerous 2 but got them mixed up

My friend (who owned the Amiga I played those games on first) was/is always telling me how much PP Hammer sucked, but I still enjoy playing it - same goes for RD2. My friend, it seems, was more into games like Settlers, Pirates, Populous, Dune II etc, with a little Cannon Fodder, Speedball 2, Desert Strike and Base Jumpers thrown in for good measure. I guess the need to justify my fetish for the simple platformer lives on! That said, it's hard to beat a Bitmap Bros platformer for quality, so I can see why he had that attitude. Gods is a great game, and the first time I heard the theme tune I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks! I still play Marble Madness, too. Anyone got past the Ultimate Race (the one after the Silly Race)?? |

Ok, ok. I didn't own an Amiga back in the day - I was an Acorn man, so help me! It's something I'm still trying to get over, ok!?!
I only got my first real Amiga(s) a few months ago!!! (I've been using Amithlon for years ) The first Amiga game I played was Cannon Fodder on my A3000 - No, not the Amiga one!!!! An Acorn A3000 conversion - ok?!? I'm not troubled by this... ...what gives you that impression? I'm quite happy with my choices, no regrets, would do it all again... No, NO!!!!! Please. That jacket doesn't suit me, not my colours at all. I especially object to the velcro straps. Oi! Will you keep that diazepam away from my cat-flap? Ahhhhhhhhhhh......... 1st game I ever saw was Marble Madness on an A1000, at the local C64 club when someone turned up with an Amiga round about late 95 / early 86 and amazed everyone with the multitasking and pic of King Tut and a copy of DPaint. within a year or 2 it was an Amiga club once the a500 came out. All I remember now is the 4hours of X-Copy 'bong' once a month!!!

I had a friend who had spent the best part of six months saving up pocket money and money from presents to buy an A500 with Populous. He also had a magazine with a cover disk demo of New Zealand Story.
Those were the first two amiga games I ever witnessed. |

If I remember corrrectly it was Budokan followed by Chambers of Shaolin. Got my first Amiga used and along with it a lot of *cough* safety copies. The first hours playing on the Amiga after playing on the C64 were like : Woah, I want more of this!
Never got away from that feeling |
