Just out of curiosity, I tried running Morphos 1.4.5 for PowerUP boards, and, as suspected, it stops due to missing mcrxr instruction.
I think it was mentioned that this won't happen until a switchover to QEMU's PowerPC code has happened. Does anyone know if QEMU PowerPC has a JIT variant? |

But I think you also wanted to know if QEMU has PPC JIT: Yes, it does. |

Tried also with fpu emulation Toni, but black screen. I even removed harddrives and tried to get into kickstart, but no luck. Maybe it's something regarding scsi emulation, but i have heard others using ide with no probs.
I will keep investigating. Thanks! |

@huepper
Tried with the standar 2 mb chip and without bsdsocket emulation. Same black screen. I even turned off jit in case it was doing something, but nothing, it remains the same. Will keep working on it. |

The PearPC core is being deprecated in favor of a newer QEMU core. See Toni's description of his new Beta 14 release.
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=575 Also, not too many people even have OS 4.1 to being with. |

I've been busy with work, so I've not been around much recently. Still very much interested in the PPC emulation though

Still interested! I just know Toni isn't working on the PearPC integration any further, and he's focused on QEMU PPC emulation. I doubt I'll be interested in much until that's come to fruition.

Thats it...
I don't have OS4 and I will not buy it to test it on emulated HW. But demos and software for 3.x with ppc support are still way to slow without JIT support.To be honest most of the stuff I tryed just did not work(yet). So I can only agree and say that I got 'bored' with that much OS4 support. I'm still eager to use PPC when its done.Would be fun to have some PPC plugins in ArtEffect,Wildfire7 or AminetRadio. |

I'm also interested, but will try more when/if WinUAE uses QEMU.

Will emulator support booting of 4.1 for other PPC boards? Or you need Classic OS4 for it?
Will MorphOS work for testing? Where can i download UAE beta for linux to try this? Edit: Only OS4/4.1 Classic will work with this, correct? Or any OS4 version can be run? Last edited by amigappc; 04 September 2014 at 16:08. |

Only OS4/4.1 classic will work. Right now MorphOS doesn't work. The linux UAE beta that you want is FS-UAE, and you'll want the development version: http://fs-uae.net/download-devel
The best way to use UAE with PPC right now, emulated, is to use OS3.9 with warpos, or whatever kind of hybrid 68k/ppc setup you want. |
