im waiting for the 30 40 60 , i hope you get there , its exciting cant wait to make my old banger speedy ,i use fpu for imagine 3d renders does quake use fpu to run faster i dont know somebody might know.

Realistically the 040 board wont be all that practical on the A500. It should be fun for people wanting to understand the 040 bus a bit better.

Something I havent got time to do at the moment is figure out why my 020 board is unhappy playing along with the Kipper2K A508 board. I assume its something to do with the DTACK

It's motivated me to get off my but and do something Amiga.
Just put my A508 in the A1500 and proceeding to install workbench as I type and then I will setup my PPS 2000/040.

I enjoyed it! I watched the first half on my mobile on a noisy Tram (volume was a bit low). Would love to try something like this but I'm not sure my soldering skills are up to it.

Hi me again, crazy idea yet again with the ide, is the zorro to both cia's address working? Also the zorro auto configuration for autobooting ide for the ks rom driver to load? I am sorry for this as I did some reading so not sure, please forgive me just this once!

sorry if you have seen or got this found a bit about the cia's, I also found but can't find the link at the moment about auto boot how the kick start rom will see and loads the driver based on auto config, please forgive as I know not what I do.

Yes i have that document. And a disassembled copy of scsi.device.

The card will ultimately behave like the A600 hard disk.

How do you handle the fact the 68000 has nLDS and nUDS and the 68020 only has a nDS signal?
The A608/A508 uses the nLDS/nUDS signals but does not use DTACK!

The IDE68K design also has the same issue with nLDS/nUDS but that does use nDTACK. The A1200 has a different GAYLE chip to that in the A600, which as described in the document Keith linked to.

I generate UDS and LDS. I generate all the missing 68k signals. In UDS and LDS they are generated from Size and A0/A1. I have a regression rom for these signals too

I wouldn't expect the A508 to use or send a DTACK as the Amiga motherboard would do that. The ram does not accept reads of bytes or words after being configured. Clearly my issue but not an easy one to diagnose.

I fully grok the Gayle document already. But it is full of mistakes (or is out of date depending on how you want to look at it) too.
